The Joshua King rumour has surfaced again: https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/norwich-in-transfer-hunt-for-54-cap-international-striker/ Sometimes I think that could be a good Pukki like move and at other times I think it could turn out like Drmic. We do need another striker option and he can also play at AM or WL. He's certainly got PL experience and had a good scoring record at Bournemouth so on a free transfer from Everton it may well be tempting for SW and DF. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joshua-king/profil/spieler/91059

Talk of Buendia to Arsenal seems to be gaining traction again. I know Webber likes to sort things out early, but can't help wondering if in Buendia's case, it might be worth leaving things late and see if he can add to his value in the Copa America, assuming it goes ahead. Argentina's first game is scheduled for the 13th of June and with the window opening on the 9th, assuming Buendia gets to play and puts in a decent performance in the Copa America can only add to his value. They also have world cup qualifying games on the 4th & 9th of June. A delay in selling Buendia coupled with Webber doing other business early, as is his style, could make a lot of financial sense. Apparently Arsenal may try and reduce the cash payment with a cash plus player offering. Is 40m enough for him or are we looking at 40m plus player(s)? Do Arsenal have any young developing players we would want ?
I find it funny that Arsenal are even in a position to talk about expensive purchases at the moment with their debt and laying off other staff etc. Re: Buendia it's not a given he'll get a run out in the Copa America - and there's always the chance of an injury. I think if the right offer comes in at any point Webber will chase it up. 40-50m for a "Championship player" will ruffle a lot of Arsenal fan feathers which will be great! He's worth it though. The beauty of this all is that we don't need to sell.
We should remember that these Emi to Arsenal rumours ran throughout last summer's window only for Arsenal to deny any serious interest after the window closed. Many rumours are based on what fans want on Twitter (the same for Skipp at Spurs) and/or journalists trying to fill space. There's rarely any substance to them but they keep cropping up. My guess is that Max is the most likely leaver at around £30m if the prospective buyer has the money. Like Hairy, I think Arsenal will struggle to find anything like £40m for Emi.
Which is why a cash plus player deal has been mooted. But how often does that kind of deal come to fruition? Very rarely I would guess. Villa and Leeds both seem to believe that they can land Emi. He would be better served staying at City than going to one of them.
I think those clubs might prefer to wait until any summer competition is over, because they will likely not want to pay £40m for a player who then gets injured on international duty
Sorry if this has already been said: it would be very nice indeed if Emi's happy and beneficial experience with us attracts a couple of fellow Argentinian national team fringe players looking to make their mark alongside him at Norwich - I'm thinking a young Riquelme and a young Mascherano?
New rumour now about Adam Reach from Sheffield Wednesday: https://www.footballinsider247.com/...for-sheffield-wednesday-contract-rebel-reach/ Out of contract this summer.
Can't see this happening. Lazy journalism for me. Yes I think we're looking for an attacker / wide player, Yes his contracts ended, but 28 years old, played in a team that got relegated from championship to league 1, no PL experience and no evidence to suggest he has the potential to reach PL quality. Webber has said he will only bring in players that improve the starting 11 / squad. Don't see Reach as an upgrade, maybe treading water at best. Here's Dave Freezer's take on it https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/ncfc-transfer-rumours-relegated-reach-linked-7992806
He’d be on a free though, right? Tall player, would add some bulk to our midfield. I think he’s decent too - his stock has fallen since his big money move to Wednesday a few years ago when he was touted as making it to the premier league, and as well as bringing up youngsters we have done quite well recently at taking in players supposedly at their peak - 27-29 - but who for some reason have not lived up to earlier promise. I accept your point about him not obviously improving the starting XI, but I see that more where we are spending money - so for a freeby and who has a real point to prove (as well as having experienced the grind of a relegation battle...) I think this is actually quite low risk. He would add that extra string to our bow of a bit of grit and strength.
