Slater and Crowley would be very very welcome signings, if it is them, both available for nothing, both young, potential to improve and increase in value and we know they fit in with our squad and style of play
That makes it sound like it could be Dion Charles. Would be a huge statement of intent if we splashed the cash to get him.
I think Crowley is a good player but does he suit the way we play, he does slow the game down rather than move the ball quickly, so not so sure he would fit into the starting eleven?
Adelakun is too hit and miss at l1 level, Bristol didn’t rate him at championship level...why would he be a good signing ?
Agreed, and McCann has said he's not sure Crowley would want to come and not play every week, but I'd still consider Crowley if I was McCann, providing I thought he could be coached into moving the ball quicker. Wilks (while still having a long way to go) improved hugely over the season in (occasionally) looking to pass rather than hang onto the ball.
Having read the interview it doesn't sound like crawley is coming and his style doesn't suit our style. But there will be times when we need to hang onto the ball and he offers that. But it wont happen as mostly he'd be on the bench.
I don’t think we need marquee signings, we need players that are definitely going to improve us. Ronan Curtis at Portsmouth is after a Championship move, I think he’d be a good signing.
I'd take Curtis, he's a decent player, I like Harness too. Pompey have a great squad and majorly underperformed this year. I don't think there's much chance of us getting marquee signings, pretty certain we don't have the budget. But that's not an issue, our wage bill this year will have been a fraction of Sunderland's yet, we finished 12 points ahead. I just hope we sign players on the way up, instead of on the way down. I don't want a championship club's rejects, and we probably can't afford them either
Emphasis on the word 'occasionally'! What got me at times with Malik was when he did pass the ball and it worked, he didn't think to repeat it!
