Had forgotten all about Hesketh. He looked really promising a few years ago when he was just breaking through, reminiscent of Lallana. Did he pick up a serious injury which curtailed his progress and he never made it back into contention again? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Yep. If someone big comes in for him, he’ll / his agent will engineer a move.

Good point, I'm so used to the traditional formations merely adding up to ten. With the "bonus" player, l would go for a 4-0-2-2-3. Dean can't send defenders off, if there are none <wizard>

Yeah got injured at Burnley iirc and never quite recovered. Had a few go that way recently, hope Smallbone doesn't add to that.

I guess it depends on how fickle Ralph is

I always got the impression that Koeman felt like he had been let down by Jake in giving him a big chance and him getting injured and not really recovering. Never seemed interested in giving him another chance again

We wouldn't be getting the Romeu of this season for anywhere £9m. There are a few articles online saying Delany is also a very good CB

I will defer to you guys. Overall do not want to change too much, GK, I want a clone of Alex and Frazer, then we would have some keeper,I want an attacking left back, I want JWP to have a brace on his neck, do he can only look forwards, I want Nathan Redmond to believe he is better than George Best, I want Che Adams to miss a penalty in the Euro final and then come batter the premiership in rage, i want Tella to become want we wanted for Theo, I want fans to love Vesty, I want Ralph for a few more years, I want Lincoln to say Saints are playing okay, I want to see FatLetiss back, and I want us all to have a great summer

We will see a lot of him next month as he is an ever-present in a currently strong ‘dark horse’ Denmark side, who have a favorable run through to the semis, (Italy being the only ‘top’ team on that side, not counting Belgium - who Denmark share a group with and thus won’t meet again til the final).

Lots of Champions League experience for Dortmund and has only lost his place recently due to Jude Bellingham’s rise.

He had 2/3 bad injuries, but I always had the feeling he had a bit of a mental block when it came to playing.

The Burnley away game where he was completely battered to the point he went off crying (wasn't seen again under Koeman), and then the hapoel away game he started, and was taken off after 25 minutes because he couldn't handle the atmosphere, and then never played for us again. Then Ive seen a few comments from his loan spells about similar psychological problems with him.

    Shame, he was talented.

Oh, and played a pre season friendly in China under Hughes. Got subbed on, and taken off again early. Never played again for the 1st team.

Funnily enough, you’ve nailed his chant there too.

I vote we keep St Mary's empty. The atmosphere has been much better this season.

Serious(-ish) point, that almost certainly belongs in a different thread: For the game against Leeds, face coverings were meant to be worn at all times, inside the stadium. If this requirement continues into next season, and even half of the fans comply, the singing/chanting will be severely diminished. It won't matter for Old Trafford or The Emirates, but it could remove whatever atmosphere is built up at St Marys.

Didn't make much difference on Tuesday - fans weren't wearing face masks or had them down by their chins.
