Re the first point, I don't think I was. I've never had much vitriol towards Southampton, just a bit of banter and who doesn't like a bit of banter? And tbf, I was young and naive in those days, now I realize the whole game is a joke and Portsmouth circa 2008 were just a symptom of it. But I've grown up, and more jaded and more cynical since then. I kind of miss my innocence. I even watched the champions league final several years in a row. Like actively choosing to rather than it being on in the background.
That Cup win in 2008 was totally surrea for me. I wenit into Portsmouth on the Sunday afternoon, the day after the Cup final victory and it felt rather strange seeing all these expensively assembled players on huge wages at Pompey playing in front of 20,000. I knew then, that afternoon that it was not sustainable.
The story of Schalke’s last game agony. Great read if you’ve got 10mins. Bad enough losing our SF’s, Finals & relegation but that, wow! Schalke's Bundesliga agony: Champions for four minutes & 38 seconds https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57087325
Poch has won his first meaningful trophy of his career with the French Cup. So our former managers have won both the French and Spanish domestic cups this year.
And hopefully Fonte can join Davis as league winners this weekend Both captains as well! Makes you wonder!? Edit: and Jeremy Pied!
Dear FIFA, Please **** off with this idea. World Cup's are the pinnacle of international football. Having one every 2 years is just stupid and will just devalue it. World Cup: Fifa to consider holding men's and women's events every two years - BBC Sport
Surely UEFA would do all they can to prevent this. Maybe instead of a World Cup, there could be a Rest-of-the-World Cup in the same summer as the Euros. Would be really enjoyable without the European teams in it.
That goal was ridiculous. Danjuma clean through half way inside his own half from a Brentford corner!
That's both goals scored from horrific defending. The first leg was bad enough, when the CB was caught on the ball on the touchline way up inside Bmouth's half. And this one was even worse.
