Not really sure what choice he had with those 2. Hume injured very early so had to pick mcfadzean and Flanagan is a centre half we needed. Was pretty solid all in all and only slightly undercooked his back pass. McGeady cost us as much as they did with missed chances
I could say the same about you, wanting Hasselbaink to replace him. He didn't select McFadzean, he had to bring him on. He had to pick Flanagan because we got so few fit senior centre backs. The idea that supporters know more about whether age group players are ready for the first team than the coaches who work with them every day is just pure fantasy.
Agree with this. In the first half he got us out of jail 3 or 4 times cutting out a pass or sliding in when they were 2 on 1 against him. I think any CB playing on the left side would struggle with Macfadzean to be honest, but that said it isn't Macfadzean's fault we've signed him as our only cover.
Thought Wright was awful. Gave the ball away trying that “Hollywood” pass so many times. Sign of madness is trying the same thing and expecting different results!
Some will know I have been against the u23s being brought in. I have said I think the gap is huge between their matches and first team, and that is only based on what I have seen with my eyes. However, about turn from me, bring a couple in so long as it doesnt clash with their final (which after tonight is arguably the more important game). I still think they have been playing at a much lower standard, but I would be confident they will bring more desire and bravery. Younger and Neil, and Hawkes on the bench. Just tell them to play.
BW has been poor since he came back into the fold. I hate knocking our players but not many turned up tonight.
And he should have scored. He has missed easy headers a few times this season when it seemed easier to score.
Just sold my ticket for Saturday, what a waste of oxygen that side are. Wyke was the worst of the lot.
I've being saying for ages that we should give him till November to get his own players in. With so many out of contract he can bring a whole team of his own in. If we aren't in the top two by then, say goodbye.
He must be fit by now? He has played about 13 games on the bounce. He was tremendous before the injury, I don't understand how he looks so off the pace now.
Dont agree, MacFuz should be no were near the bench never mind the pitch, did you see him make one defensive contribution because I didnt, and Flanagan is an accident waiting to happen, and always has been, he gives a goal away every time he plays, listen to JFH sum his involvement in the second goal he explains what Flanagan did wrong and it was not just a case of undercooking a back pass, that was just one of three errors he made that resulted in the goal which has given us a mountain to climb. The irony of to-night was that it was not them that won the game but we who lost it and the manager as well as the players were at fault.
And what do we do with the players he might bring in, if they are anything like some he keeps picking we will could be in this league for years, its a big call mate., I would not like to be in KLDs shoes tbh.
On a side note, if we do (somehow) manage to turn this around in the second leg, does anyone fancy us against Blackpool? It could be ****ing carnage based on the 2 first leg performances for them and us.
I just hope Speakman and Johnson recruit better in the summer because Winchester can't get a game ahead of Power and Scowen and he refuses to play Stewart. Not a good start really is it. He deserves his chance with his own players, I just worry about this 'streaky' nickname from Bristol City. He's certainly not doing anything atm to disprove that name...
Dont be ridiculous. If you were a neutral and watched that game there is no way you would write us off in second leg. We were crap but there is no way we should have lost that 2.0. The tie is not over. We just have to go into Saturday with the intention of winning the game. If we can win by one then we can win by two. We are all feeling sorry for ourselves. Angry too. But ffs its not over. Would I bet on us winning? Nope. But funnier things have happened
