Regulion is having an absolute stinker here. You can argue he’s a bit unlucky for where the ball has ended up both times but he’s really not having a good day. We need a bit more in midfield, Winks isn’t having the worst game but him and PEH both want to sit in the same position when we have sustained possession. Wouldn’t mind seeing Gio or Tanguy on at half time to push beyond Kane and Alli when they drop, and cause a bit more issues and movement round the edge of their box.
But surely we should have changed our shape, made a sub, changed tactics or something...just seems bizarre to me
This happens every time we try to go toe to toe with anyone semi-decent. You can see exactly why Jose went ultra defensive. He was wrong to do it against bottom half sides too, but the thinking was clear and justified. Our midfield is non existent and the defence are all on different wavelengths.
Villa are running us ragged. Too much space in midfield and too many individual mistakes. A few look like they wish they were somewhere else!
You watch a performance like this, you think about the summer, and you just don't know where to begin. It is shockingly bad across the pitch.
