You seem to know this legal stuff so I am asking:

Could the arbitration give an indication of a solution which ensures both parties win? Like mediation or is that a whole different ball game.

Spot on: and that seems fair given the fact that it has a monumental impact on the clubs ability to plan for next season etc.

So basically we will have an answer middle to late July.

Or you could look at it another way. They are burying things and don’t have much evidence at all. I mean what evidence can they actually have?

That’s a real question too for anyone to answer because I don’t honestly know what they would have as evidence!!!

I think the only thing you can conclude is that both sides legal teams firmly believe they can win.

The is the best vs the best I'd assume.

It's 50/50 and if nufc had a penalty tu take that would make them the richest club in the world the turf would come up and it'd land in row Z... THATS A FACT

Or again looking at it another way. The PL would just go down this road so that when the case is lost they can turn around to the big six and Bein “look we did everything we could but legally we don’t have a leg to stand on”.

Cutting off ones nose to spite face!

Arbitration is effectively resolution of a dispute. An arbitration panel makes a decision binding on both parties.

Mediation is effectively negotiation to resolve the issues.

Potentially this. If they lose they can say that the legal system has ruled on the matter.

Alternatively, they may be confident. It is rare for a party not to feel confident.

Exactly this. Because Ashley is suing for loss of profit caused by delay it stands to reason that this would need to be expedited. Mitigating potential losses.

So another question. If the arbitration case loses. Then by very definition the CAT case falls apart?

If arbitration wins then the CAT case isn’t needed?

So either way what’s the purpose of the CAT case?

CAT is separate. If the arbitration case is lost Ashley will pursue the anti competition case. No doubt he will claim that the PL's arbitration process is part of the claim.

If we win arbitration it is effectively takeover and Ashley will drop the CAT case.

Obviously there's a strong chance nufc loses this mate or the premier league would've folded.

I appreciate they are separate but they are intrinsically linked.

If arbitration is to lose for MA then that means the PL didn’t do anything wrong. Therefore the takeover was a non starter and thus no financial loss can be established. The rules are the rules and anti competition doesn’t come into it because the takeover couldn’t be done anyways.

I can’t see how the CAT case can stand up if the arbitration loses.

They can’t fold. They have to see it through. For more reasons than one.

    Why not?

According to de Marco the last thing they want is arbitration. Ideally it's resolved before it gets that far.

It's clear the premier league have a strong case
