I think Man City seems an obvious fit for him. They need to replace Aguero and Kane walks into that team and he’s basically guaranteed trophies playing for them.

Covid era or not. They will have the money for any player they want.

He doesn't fit their current business model, though.
They'd prefer to bring in Haaland and gain the best part of a decade. His dad played for them, too.
Dealing with Dortmund would also be a lot easier than trying to match Levy's amount, especially from them.

Very true, I just think that they wouldn’t turn down the chance to sign him even if it meant dealing with Levy and paying more for an older player.

What about Man Utd? Do you not think they would enter the bidding?

No...the only way he leaves this summer with 3 years left on his contract is
    1. if he does a berbatov/Modric and refuses to play
    2. If a bid of £130m or so comes in.

Can't see the first one happening but can see the second one.

Man Utd have just re-signed Cavani for another season, have Greenwood, Rashford and Martial on their books and can't afford to fix their roof.
They've got more pressing concerns, I think, especially with Fernandes getting so many goals from midfield.

Utd might try (in order to appease their fans) but they do not need strengthening up front.

They'd be no closer to City next season without bolstering their defence imho

If City genuinely want him they’ll find the £150m somehow. I’m almost certain of that.

Chelsea I’d say have no chance and he’d be stupid going to Utd as he’d still miss out on Prem and CL trophies.

I think transfer fee is a big issue for anyone who wants him but also wages…IIRC he’s on about 200k a week here and that’s before bonuses etc. which have always been reported as substantial at Spurs. Realistically he’s going to be negotiating to be one of, if not the, highest earner at any club he joins, especially if it’s a PL club. So anyone buying him is going to be shelling out way north of 100m to get him then paying a huge wedge to play.

I can’t see the clubs who want him being able to afford him to be honest. City are perhaps the only PL club who can get it done and I don’t think he’d be their first choice. Levy holds all the cards here.

    Fun fact:

Since we last won a trophy in 2008, 87 players have left us to join other clubs and win trophies

I’ve been sent that meme by a mate in a group chat. Surely it’s not 87?

Dunno I heard it on radio.

Walker, trippier, Eriksen all left and were part of the last ‘project’. Even Skipp managed to bag a trophy whilst out on loan. I’m sure there’s loads more. These are all players off the top of my head that were supposed to be helping us win things under Poch...especially around the 5 year mark when Levy pulled the plug on the whole thing

I can’t believe it’s 87 but yeah I can believe it’s a lot. Most of those trophies will be inferior ones (Defoe at Rangers, Skipp at Norwich etc) but yeah Eriksen, Bale, Modric, Berbatov and Walker all went on to win big prizes with their next clubs

I think zero reason is more than a little extreme.

Understandable though because we've been battered over the head with this narrative by almost all pundits.

He does have love for the club and the fans that he hasn't played in the presence of for a long time. That is one reason.

Also, Bale has just returned and is finding form which is absolutely huge, assuming he stays of course - Another reason.

Dele (who is also finding form), Son and Bale behind him is solid reason to expect a better season next time around. The attacking options are phenomenal. He will want to beat Shearer's record. He will also want to win something with Spurs and become club legend. - A few more reasons there.

(Let me just say here, if any other team had our front three they'd be lauded as obvious title contenders after the tweaks needed elsewhere in the squad, and spoken about with an excitement that simply never happens with us. Contrast with Leicester, when everybody wanted them to win the league, if their team didn't.)

Lloris committing further may also present another reason to stay.

Has anybody actually put in a bid? People are talking as if it's a Bale Real situation. Who is the team that is going all out, that Kane has longed to play for since childhood?

Levy will not be selling to a PL rival regardless, why would he? £150m is a conservative estimate in my view, especially form Levy's perspective.

    Mid contract too?

    Kane knows this.

You say zero reason is extreme then thrown in a massive bunch of reaches. I think you’re setting up for major disappointment.

The only reason Kane likely stays is if Levy stands firm like he done with Modric and the Chelsea saga. We know/ hope Kane isn’t the type to kick up a fuss but I think its pretty inevitable he’ll leave if City do get past Levy.

(Arguably) The world’s best striker will have his ambitions, doesn’t matter how much he loves a club or the players alongside him, he’ll want better than what Tottenham have been offering him these last couple seasons, he’s 28 before the start of next season, he’s reaching a point where it’s now or never for him to go on and win the big things. He’ll have seen Walker’s success in recent years, he’ll have just seen Eriksen’s success and he could be on the verge of seeing Trippier’s too if Atleti hold their nerve for the final game. I’m almost certain he wants a piece of that, he gave an interview just the other day talking about how disappointing this season has been, seeing his former teammates hit the highs they have will have only added fuel to the fire.

Fortunately football is a team game and you can always replace a single player no matter how good they are. Remember we went on to better performances after we lost Bale and it's not just us. Liverpool lost Suarez and improved, United lost Ronaldo, Chelsea lost Hazard, it happens all the time.

If we knew the club would be able to spend relatively wisely then I don’t think there’d be as much doom and gloom as there currently is but giving Levy and Hitchen £150m or so to spend at the moment based on the last 5 years of spending and I’m half expecting Benteke on a free to be Kane’s replacement.
