Not really an fair comparison is it? Ash was a CM who lead the team and broke up play, Elliott was an amazing goal scorer but in lower leagues, Geo was a talent but only showed up when the sun was shining, Green was decent at a lower level. Marney was crap.
Hard choice really, would of said Ash until he left, not because he left, but because he told a mate of mine he was off to Preston in the December then tried to blame the club, smacks of sour grapes to been egded out of team. For sheer enjoyment it has to be Elliott, great player, gave his all, scored some wonder goals, and a cracking guy to chat too
The best match i have seen with Elliot in was at KC Stadium against QPR 1-0 with 10 minutes to go and Elliot is sub and comes on and we win the match 2-1 with him scoring both
That QPR game was amazing, we completely dominated the game and must have had 4 or 5 goals disallowed for offside in the first halfand also near misses, they got a breakaway goal on the stroke of half time, and then spent the entire second half on the floor with head injuries. It looked like we were going to go home moaning about it but Elliott came on and turned the game on it's head and justice prevailed.
Two horse race between Ash and Elliott for me but Ash wins it - in fact change it to 'best player' vs. midfielder and I think he'd still come out on top of any poll for me. Legend.
Has to be Ashbee. Legend who deserves a statue outside KC Stadium. (as long as statue is on wheels in case we have to move).
i voted for Stuart Elliott on the basis of the goals he scored but in terms of skill levels it has to be Geo.
Really hard to choose between Ash and Elliott (would vote for both if i could!) I just remember that season where everything that Elliott did ended up as a goal (that goal from the half way line V Brentford ad the cross/shot V Luton stick out) so i've gone with Elliott. Both him and Ash are club legends and having met them both in the early days at the KC they're 2 really nice blokes as well. I'm guessing Marney is on the poll for comedy value?
