If our goal difference wasn't so horrible 11th would've been up for grabs

Apart from wind assisted ones from goal kicks that bounce over the goalie’s head.

SFC were lucky with Ings as Brewster and Solanke, another ex-Liverpool striker, are infamous for firing blanks.

I'm not sure lucky is the right word. Ings got his move to Liverpool in the first place because he's a quality striker.

I meant lucky in the sense that he is not an ex-Liverpool striker that is less productive than a neutered tomcat, a la Solanke and Brewster. Having said that, Brewster might well find his scoring boots in the Championship, a la Mitrovic.

Ings on the other hand is an excellent striker. However, being a Saints supporter, would you like to be kind of "selfish" and hope he is only on the standby list for England, as Ings is somewhat injury probé, which is not in the best interests of Southampton FC. Obviously, he would love to play for England so for his sake I hope he plays a dynamic part in the forthcoming Euro tournament.

"Ward-Prowse, in my opinion, has been Southampton's player of the season. They will do well to keep him. He's a Liverpool player if ever I saw one"

    Feck off Garth Crooks!

He does that with every Saints player he selects, it's the Tory in him. We are the archetypal pleb club to Garth.

If these pundits had their way we’d have no team, and there be a league of 6 and loads of out of work players!

Think you’ll find he looks like a Saints player Garth, because that’s exactly what he is.

Good news. Lee Mason to retire from on-field refereeing.

Bad news. Lee Mason to become a permanent VAR.

I don't think Palace is the right job for Lampard. They have an ageing squad in need of full rebuild. Roy has got the best out of them for a few years now and it will be hard to to take them from a stable bottom half side to anything more.
