For the last game of the regular season the Sounders are expecting 60000. They had 67000 for a friendly against Man U. I guess there is only Man U in the premier league that regularly beats that figure. Shows you that soccer in the USA may be moving into the big time? Also its Kasey Kellers last game as he is retiring at 42.

Crackin' turnout that. Disproves a point that the US doesn;t like the game. You've brought through some decent players over the years as well.

However, there's a difference with football in England and the US, & that is there's plenty of clubs around one area in the UK, whereas in the States most of the cities are so spread out over different states, and there's no real derbies. For instance, in the Midlands and Lancashire there are 4-5 teams within 30-40 mins away. And in London, they;re even closer.

For the smaller teams- Bolton, Blackburn, Birmingham, Palace (just some examples incase some Milllllllllllwallllllll fans come on here) getting 20K is a good turnout, because now so many just chose to glory hunt the top 4.

Man Utd & Liverpool have more fans in London than Chelsea but half never go to matches.

It is an impressive turn out, the game is obviously growing and with cities as big as they are there, if it really takes off Seattle could easily get crowds over 100k.

Seattle, Washington is located about 2.5 hours' drive north of Portland, Oregon. Portland's team in Major League Soccer, the Timbers, have also built a similarly rabid following. Vancouver (the one in the province of British Columbia, not the one in the state of Washington) is another 2.5 hours' drive north of Seattle, and Whitecaps FC are working as well on building a proper team in MLS and an equally intense fan base. Since 2004, there has existed a three-team competition named the Cascadia Cup:

So it's more than the hot dogs.

    Thus Endeth The Lesson.

Many of the larger cities on the west coast have a large latino population that boosts attendances. Here in Orlando 'soccer' is very popular with kids but american football is still the king. Orlando City ( USL Professional Division ) have recently formed and are coached by Adrian Heath ( Everton ). They play in a 70000 seated stadium to average gates of 9000 but the owners are ambitious and see a future in the MLS.

<laugh> I watch a lot of Man vs. Food on YouTube - unbelievable, it really is (in terms of the size of both the portions and those consuming them). <laugh>

And your name really is Viking Erik, I'm sure.

You still sound fat; you might have neglected to note the 10 stone of dross between your ears.

"'m 6ft tall and weigh 13 stone. Not that fat." Yes Erik we believe you and you have lots of friends and girls really really like you. Is this what mummy keeps telling her little soldier.

    1) Are you saying I'm not 6ft tall and 13 stone?

    2) It's not Viking Erik, actually. The choice of username was a homage to Erik Thorvaldsson (A.K.A Erik the Red).

Oh no, I made a few sarcastic comments on an internet forum about Americans being fat, that means that my head is full of 10 stone of ****!

My conclusion on your cranial composition was formed not from "a few sarcastic comments" but from the approximately 10,000 posts you've made on this forum, many of which appear to be characteristic of an attention-whoring WUM who simply doesn't know when to stop.

In other words, you sound VERY fat indeed ... fat enough to have "NUFC" tattooed on your generous belly.

So it's more than the hot dogs.

    TETL.

What, so because I've posted on this site a lot and you disagreed with what I'd written in a few of my posts, you assumed I must be fat and stupid? Doesn't sound like you are that intelligent yourself! <laugh> :emoticon-0109-kiss:
