Spuds 2-1 up. 4th looks all but over now. Reckon we could pip Chelsea for fifth as they've got to play United twice, doubt it'll happen though.

Makes you think what our season would have been like if we had had Dalglish from week 1.

I've no doubt we'd have gone further in the Carling Cup and I have a feeling we'd be above the likes of Sunderland and Spurs... pushing Chelsea and Arsenal for 3-4....

Sorry I have been away, that server biz really messed things up for a minute... tag onto that coaching, playing, and work , it had been eventful. My thoughts on the game, I thought it was one of those where even though we did not play that well, we still showed we could have won it even in the last minute, we missed a lot of good chances I thought ( it happens ), and the goal was dubious but that again happens.

I think Ngog and Jova when they came on was Kenny saying " show me you belong" and man did they fail.... every time Ngog got the ball you could see the frustration on Suarez face wondering why he had either lost the ball/gone backwards/ made the wrong decision when passing. And Jova.... looked like Bambi on ice! He could not sort his feet out let alone sort out what to do with ball!

I think it is two points dropped but Wigan do have that knack of nicking points off the big boys.... Would have liked the win though don't get me wrong but there are still more positives than there were about a month ago!

To be fair, by then the shape was failing and had been since Meireles went off. Jova had a good game against Blackpool, which Kenny noticed. Ngog has just met Suarez and has shown over and over he's improved steadily. If you want a youngster hyped up to be instant mash look for Macheda, 'the kid most likely to' at one time. You'll have to look away from OT though cos he got put out on loan.

Few had good games yesterday. Like you said, it happens, but don't blame the subs for failing to pull it together.

A phrase I coined years ago on 606 to describe Babel, who was forgiven over and over by fans who wanted him to get a "run of games." I think Jova's only remained because of the wage and he's exactly the type of high wage, low profile player FSG do not want. He'll be gone faster than it took to get shot of Babel.

Sorry this is late, but Muppetfinder, I was not blaming the subs for not pulling it together, just giving two players I thought looked really poor and unfortunetely on the day it was the subs.

Tell you what I was I hoping for, Pacheco up top with Suarez but just my thoughts.

Also it annoys me how everyone assumes ( we all know what that does...) that if we got this result with Roy we would have slated him. Well yes we would have.... because of the way we played, the way Wigan probably would have outplayed us, the way we just hoofed to the lone striker and didn't look like scoring for long periods of the game.

He is at a new club why are they banging on about this still!

Every Reds fans knows what Hodgson was like we all saw his methods and tactics first hand. All these rival fans (mostly mancs) who say he should be given more time are clueless. When you put it to them about would they put up with hoof ball? would they have a manager who refuses to play attacking football because he's too stubborn to change his methods? They all know the answer is a resounding NO. But it's easier for them to judge us based on the incorrect facts they know than just admit when they are wrong....

Yeah, sometimes I get defensive over players. I was like that for Lucas, Kuyt and Benayoun when they came. I was as disappointed with Jova and Ngog yesterday. Or maybe disappointed for them is a better way of putting it.

I dunno about Suarez and Pacheco simply because they seem similar, in build and, most importantly, hair. But I've no doubt Kenny will get the best out of Pacheco's potential. Changed days from when I could only see him leaving under Roy.

The hair looks similar I'll admit but Dani looks like he uses spray whereas Luis looks more like a gel man... <ok>
