"He kept us up on his todd". Thats funny cos on the other thread you said, "Fortunately, there are another 10 blokes involved and another 5 on the bench, so the argument is irrelevant. Better team will win. Now you are just qualifying it by length of time, and at a lower level. "King had more ability" yep and he certainly used it in the time he was here however short that was.
king did a decent job for us, but he scored 5 goals and 2 of those where penalties, id put campbell ahead of him.
Yeah, and those other 15 were heading for League One. Windass was infectious, he lifted everyone and he took chances when it mattered. The promotion side was a team. That side that scraped and escape was Deano carrying others on his back. Deano's quality contribution over 2 years in the Championship outweighs King's few decent games in the PL. King had bags of ability so could have been a great centre forward for us but he threw it away.
Ah, the old 'emotion over reality' question. Deano was probably the most influential striker we have had (in my time of watching city). Been with us for some good times and been an excellent servant to the club. However, in my opinion (and we all know what THAT is worth) Marlon King was the better player.
you might want to delete this bollox.. i don't usually take offense but King couldn't tie up Deano's laces.. besides Deano could also play midfield and was technically excellent..
There are some dodgy options on this thread like King, and also on the "best City midfielder" thread ie Marney and Green.
Can't believe all this ****e about King on here - not only is he a **** but I don't think he's that technically gifted either. Look where he is / what he's delivering now, would he even make our first team? Deano all the way (of those nominated n the OP)
