Can’t fault John Lewis,I returned a faulty coffee maker to them yesterday for a replacement as it had a two year warranty,no questions asked.

More of a Stellar man myself; they go great on the induction hob...

If we’re discussing the merits of kitchen ware this time next season I’ll be amazed. It feels weird to be excited about ITFC after 15 years of decline...

Just seen the replay, an enjoyable game with two early goals and another before the half hour mark. Dobra was great, he has tricky feet and with his low centre of gravity he twists and turns defenders inside out!

Shame we didn't see more performances like that over the course of a season but the cull has already begun with Chambers, Skuse, Sears, Wilson, Huws and strangely Nydam already leaving the club. Have to admit I'm very surprised at Nydam not being retained after the positive things Cook said about his desire in a recent interview.

Here's to an interesting transfer window and seeing what improvements are made to the club in the summer. I think the North Stand is going to get some attention and there should be some overall improvements made to the match day experience to go along with what we all hope will be a successful batch of signings being made to the first team and the staff at all levels of our wonderful club.

I think with Nydam it has to be that if you wouldn’t sign him from another club, don’t keep him on.

That's a good way of looking at transfers, Hampy. <ok>

There may be some concerns over his past injuries too. We shouldn't keep players on the books who can't contribute to 30+ games in a season. A lot of our problems recently have come from the fact that we can't play the same team week in/week out and so the consistency suffers. A squad at this level should be smaller and consist of players who are always available to play. To be successful we'll need an almost set in stone first eleven with the bench having pretty much the same players on it every week too. Then we may actually see some partnerships develop and a better understanding between the players of the game plan. The Man U team of Giggs, Neville, Beckham, Scholes etc was so effective because they all knew exactly where each other would be at any given time and that's something our team hasn't had for a long while due to our constant injury issues.

Although we all know that Chambo & Skusey had to go, it was tinged with sadness, as they have played some 650 games of football for us,thru the bad times and the good. Loyal servants, decent men, good role models for younger players, good strong players in their heyday, but deffo needed weeding out sooner, once they were past their sell-by date, perhaps 2 or 3 years ago. They were one of the many casualties of a terminally ill Club.

So, let's wish them well at 35 years old, probaby not an exciting future for them. And not much of a send-off, but probably a few beers down the pub yesterday.

Through good times? Really? I’ll have some of whatever you’re on gaffer.

As you say they really should have gone at the time that McCarthy did.

Whilst they have been model pros, I feel they have been symptomatic of our decline. Good solid players who obviously care about the club and unlike many others have managed to play game after game particularly Chambers but perhaps lack that ambition and due to their influence have perhaps been too powerful in the dressing room. Despite the number of games they've played I'm not sure they'll go down in the history books.

In some ways I do feel for them, particularly Chambers and Sears as both looked decent players when they first came to the club and played in their best positions. But think they were McCarthyfied and put out of position where they have looked the shadow of their former selves and not worth a spot in the team. Not so sure about Skuse can't imagine he was particularly progressive player before Mick signed him.

I think the only player to come out of the ME era with any real credit for consistently good performances was Cresswell and possibly Berra and Bart.

Chambers had 1 good season where he and Smith formed the best CB pairing for years and were superb, then he broke it up the next year bringing Berra in and putting Chambers at RB. Since that point Chambers performances have probably average 5/10.

Skuse used to rile me under Mick, he embodied everything I disliked about that team, solid first but lacked ambition. Given his ability, character and experience I think he could have done alot more with his career. He was just comfortable doing a solid job which is part of the reason I think its the right time to let him go.

We need to be realistic in our ambitions moving forwards but we also need to be ambitious and whether its Skuse and Chambers fault or not they have embodied how stagnant the club has become over the past few years and the lack of ambition shown.

I would add Daryl Murphy, Gareth McAuley, Tommy Smith and James Norwood.

For others like Luke Hyam they have been unlucky to play in this era because I think had it been another era they could have held their own in the top flight. Woolfy, Downes and Dozzell may be lucky enough to be coming through at just the right time.

Sears is the one I feel for, again he's been like many before McCarthyfied. I think it shows you how stupid the decision to put him out wide was, when basically half his goals for Ipswich came at a time when he played upfront for basically 1 year, the following 5 seasons where he's pretty much been used as a wide forward he scored the same number of goals. But is that reflective as a game as a whole with that little man in a top 2 role being phased out (I'm sure it'll come back at some point).

I've said it before but he very much reminded me of how Alun Armstrong used to play they both had superb movement along along forward line which created space for their forward partner, I don't think that it's a coincidence that Murphy had such a good season playing along side Sears nor Stewart playing alongside Armstrong. It also gives the midfield and defence so many more outlets if you have a forward player who makes certain runs. Whilst we certainly need more creativity in the team we also need forward players who have intelligent movement, to be fair Norwood is half decent at it which is why we only score when he's in the team.

If Cook is going to play with 1 upfront, it's the right decision to let Sears go as for all how highly I rate him as a striker in a 2, he's awful as a wide forward. I think it's just a shame we didn't get to see him and Norwood play for a prolonged period as a top 2, as I think they both have a lot of qualities which could have really worked together particularly at this level.

I chose Cresswell because he just was consistently good pretty much every game he played over a number of seasons, all the others you mention whilst I agree had really good spells didn't do it consistently.

Murphy had 1 outstanding season but other than that was decent but nothing special.

McCauley is probably one of the best CBs I've seen at Town but he took a while to get warmed up and then he left at the end of 1 superb season. ME never did learn about contract negotiations.

Tommy Smith apart from 1 very good season was probably again about 6 out of 10 in all the others. Decent but not high levels of performance.

I like Norwood and considering the injuries he's had and the team he's playing in, his goalscoring record for us is superb but hasn't played enough games yet to warrant being up there with the likes of Cresswell.

I'm going to disagree on Hyam, definitely could've been a decent player but didn't see anything in him to think he could be a PL player. Again I think he was McCarthyfied, it was obvious to me his best position was as a defensive midfielder or the more defensive of a central 2 but Mick made him into an attacking midfielder which took away his best qualities. I did not understand how Mick developed many of his first team players changing their style, I'll always remember when we resigned Tommy Miller after Mick McCarthy had coached him, he'd basically coached him into a defensive midfielder again taking away his best qualities and turning one of the best goalscoring midfielders town have had into an ineffective player.

But I would agree with your general assumption that actually over the ME era we have had some decent players unfortunately for multiple reasons we have failed to get the best out of them.

I always wished we’d been able to keep hold of Mings, though I appreciate he had his detractors.

I wasn't his biggest fan, I couldn't understand why we played him at LB when he was blatantly a CB, he's turned out to be a half decent one though I think it shows the lack talent in the England team that he can get in the squad, his positional sense is awful. Always comes across very well though.

Sad ending to a promising career for Hyam, career plagued by injuries, and ultimately retiring still in his 20's, with his mental health a huge factor.
Hopefully Nydam doesn't fall the same way and he gets his career back on track

I always said he would be a CB in the end, I reckon Kenlock will move to that position as well.

    Who knows?
I just feel that Myles will become a CB at some point.
