    In order for Liverpool to stand any chance of winning the league they have to beat Man U tomorrow or the gap is already 9 points, and I just don't see them being capable of winning. Besides, even if they take the points of Man U (and that's a big if), it only hands Man City the advantage.
    Nevermind Tottenham have a game in hand over them too. Personally, I think they'll finish 5/6 depending on when Arsenal start playing properly.

    Let's be honest we are not going to win the league so in that case I hope Manure win tomorrow and smug dogleash can battle it out with Stoke,Everton et al for 7/8th place as they enviously look up at us as we cement our 4th place credentials after Sundays great win <whistle>

    Ain't gonna happen. Man Utd and Man City are better in almost every department. Both of them would have to **** their own title hopes up to give Liverpool even a small chance.

    Kenny probably could have mounted a better title run if he spent his budget wisely, but instead he opted to pay for vastly overvalued British players, so the value for money is rather poor.

    Carroll = £35mill = Not prolific enough
    Henderson = £15-20mill = A bit pants to be honest
    Charlie Adam = £7mill = A good player, but a CM starter in a team which wants to win the league? No bloody way.

    That's almost £60million on three players who aren't good enough to fit into any of the current top 3 sides. Imagine what we could have done with £60million quid? Two £15mill wingers, two £10mill full backs and a £10mill striker and we'd be ****ing laughing.

    John Henry bought Liverpool for £300M?

    That's why we'll never get bought, the club owes MA about that.

    Liverpools results so far: Wins against: Arsenal, Everton (Because of THAT red card), Wolves, Bolton. Drew with: Sunderland. Lost to: Stoke and Totenham. Pardon me for saying so but these could quite easily be compared to our fixtures. They've probably played one more top team and they have lost 2 games to our 0. So quite frankly, I'm praying for Man U to stuff them.

    It would be an enormous surprise if Liverpool finished in the top 3 never mind winning the league. I think they could battle for 4th place but it won't be much in thanks to their big money summer signings who were a big waste of cash. Chappaz hit the nail on the head - considering what little we have spent on absolute gold we can only dream what we could have done with the sort of ridiculous cash Liverpool spent on Henderson, Carroll and Adam.

    Nah not for me. I've seen plenty of both and Enrique is a better left back than Santon. However it is Jose's natural position whereas Santon is most comfortable at right back so its understandable. He won't be far behind Enrique at his best and he was supposedly superb for Italy at right back again through the week. I don't think we should underestimate how good Jose is either though.

    Suarez, Carroll, Jose, Reina, Gerrard, Rodriguez/Kuyt, Downing, Glen Johnson/Kelly would walk into our team. They are a hell of a lot stronger than us squad and first team wise.

    That said they won't challenge for the title and the top 4 I thought they'd push for looks tricky because Adebayor has lifted Spurs level a little and I'd put them top of that mini tree for now. I see only three teams challenging for 4th. Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal. The top three is a given for me.

    Suarez = Yes
    Carroll = On current form, no.
    Jose = Maybe, depends how good Santon is.
    Reina = Not sure. Krul in his current form has been almost unbeatable so far.
    Gerrard = Yeah, if he's back to his best.
    Rodriguez/Kuyt = In place of Obertan, yes.
    Downing = In place of Jonas, yes.
    Glen Johnson = No
    Kelly = No

    Evans is bound to say that. He's trying to convince the fans that they haven't lost the winning touch, he'll have to try a lot harder to convince me.

    They're doomed I tell ye, doomed!

    Glen Johnson is the worst right back in the world. Constantly out of position, can't defend to save his life. Attacking he is quite good but defensively, I'ld rather play.......Perch

    As Chappaz said, they could be title challengers if Dalgleish had spent his massive budget more wisely. Enrique and Suarez were great buys, but he wasted a lot of money on Henderson, Carrol and Downing. To think he could've bought Cabaye for a quater of Henderson's price, N'Zogbia for half of Downings price and he could've got 2/3 quality strikers for the money he spent on Carroll. For example he could've got Ba for nowt.

    I prefer the young lad Kelly but I think they're both better than Simpson. Johnson is poor at international level but I'd struggle to knock his PL form. I'm not saying I rate him highly! Long term I think Santon will move over and he'd be better than both.

    Carroll is starting to find form now but I was simply judging them on ability. Reina is probably better than Krul now but I wouldn't swap him because I think Krul will eventually be better and reach a higher level of ability. I'm sure I'd be termed deluded by other fans but I think Krul will go on to be one of the worlds best. I rate Santon highly but I'm not convinced he's been bought as a left back, and although comfortable there he is a different beast on the right. Again maybe getting carried away but based on what I saw at Inter, I could see him as one of the worlds top right backs in the future. I'm not knocking what we've got either, we're just younger in the main and they have established experienced players. Simpson is the reason I pick their right backs. Johnson was a tough one because I don't like his defending and would never pick him for England. Young Kelly is the best defender of the three I'd say.

    If we'd had 60mill in August then our team'd probably be:

    --------------Krul--------------
    Santon---Saylor-Collo---Cissokho/Pieters
    Barnetta--Cabaye--Tiote--HBA
    ------Gervinho---Gameiro------

    Subs: Elliot, Dann, "Insert back-up CM here (Gardner/Diarra?)", Marv, Jonas, Ba, Best

    Plus a few more Abeid-esque youngsters.

    drool...
