Anyone got a link to the racing today? not at home and wouldnt mind watchin Cheltenhams opening meeting
Dexter - your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to create a totally new mixed drink which blows your bollox off and leaves you feeling like a skunk crawled into your mouth and died tomorrow morning. Be adventurous, be daring, and we'll have a drink naming comp on tomorrows thread
'just left my lovely wife at the airport so home alone for the weekend and my cellars are bulging' Never heard them called that before Dexter...
Thought he had won that all day but wouldn't go past in this heavy ground. Cracking ride from Winston on the fav Violets Gift at Redcar then a decent be ton Bold Addition at Chelts
Red - any chance you can post a summary of response ? Bruce is good value, a little non-pc at times and I do think he needs to reign in his views given his position, but he is a passionate fan Cheers
Race fitness key factor there with the Irish raider winning. I hope Ruby was counting how many times he hit Bold Addition looked a good few
Sounds like there wouldn't have been much of a whip issue in the first at Cheltenham - Sizing Symphony hacked up by the sounds of it
RV I saw Ruby on ATR last week when back in Blighty. They interviewed him after he'd won a race and the last question was "So are you ready for these new whip rules?" He just mumbled something like "ready ................... jesus" and walked off
I was thinking the same RV, looked to be more than the allowance. Also was thinking watching this how much the new rules could affect horses being able to get up the hill at cheltenham, how many times have we seen a horse being about 10 lengths down jumping the last only to get up after being given a good few cracks or a horse needing to be given a number of hits to keep going up the hill.
Here is my tuppence worth for today...can't see past likely improver and very lightly raced LE CHAT D'OR 5.30. One bet only today and I'm 'all in' for this its a maximum e/w so keep fingers crossed for me...good luck to all..
Odddy HE . Like Sir Des Champs this year for E Mullins was 20 lengths off the pace 2 out and won for about 11 slaps I think and responded to each one well
I'm definitely going to rewatch the Supreme Novices Hurdle from 2011 as I seem to remember Ruby was into Al Ferof well before the final bend and all way up the hill. Wouldn't have won under today's rules.
I love Ruby: Thommo after the 2008 Cheltenham Gold Cup - "so Ruby did you make the wrong choice?" Ruby "that's the most stupid question i've ever been asked in my life" Thommo "well i had to ask it" Ruby "no you didn't"
I still wake up streaming with cold sweats at 3am from Witchita Lineman getting up to deny maljimar who, had he held on, would have comfortably paid off the car loan....
