I had a quick look and couldn't see that anyone else had posted this, but apologies if they have.
Here's an article by BBC's Alistair Magowan on our defensive success so far this season.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thefootballtacticsblog/2011/10/newcastle_profit_from_pardews.html

I particularly like seeing the stats, I love comparisons season on season etc...but what do you make of them? Are they fair comparisons given we are only 7 games in? And how do you think our defense will cope against the better teams we have coming up in November?

We won't be the best defence for long. November will prove a difficult month for us and I'm anticipating a loss or two.

Is the 'lucky' tag, dare I say it replacing our old friend the 'deluded' one?

good article always love this sort of article where it shows team spirit and everyone pulling together esp. like the bit about the new striker having to fit the needs of the club which is a really positive approach no more twitter twats then

Let them keep calling us lucky, at some stage they'll have to stop underestimating us. Hopefully Pardew is using this and telling the team that everyone thinks we're lucky, played poor teams etc etc and build a good us against the rest mentality and turning SJP into a fortress.

That will be one pressure less as far as I'm concerned, the press are constantly referring to this undefeated team hype.

Does that mean all Newcastle fans are lucky too? :)

I think it's amazing how Newcastle are now known for our defensive capabilities (with an attack starting to gel). For years we had tag of being great attackers but unable to defend at all! How times change.

Agree with this. Defence will have to be on their metal against Citeh and Man U but I think we can get a result against Everton.

Only takes 3 comments for someone to say we haven't faced a big club <doh>

Because of course an Arsenal side who were (at the time) at near full-strength apparently don't count.

Of course Arsenal are a big club who have just had a poor start, all the teams in Prem deserve respect it's the best league in the world, but not deluded enough to know that one day our defence will come unstuck. Citeh and Man U both have outstanding players but on our day we could beat them but November is going to be a hard test for us .
