How exactly is that pulling his chain?

When will this low-grade binner wum realise you don't edge an argument merely by adding a 'laughing smiley'.

I mean, Jesus! Every goddam post!

    Wot no smiley?

    Anyway, not at all.

By constant use of them you give the illusion you have the upper hand, where in fact, it's usually bollux. (as illustrated by your last feeble comment)

I thought you used to be quite good at this Warky. Are you losing your touch, or is it my memory?

Btw, I should also point out that when you say '...Norwich team that eventually got relegated twice', as far as I can think, by 2009 only Drury and Docherty remained from the Premiership squad. Not exactly the same team being relegated twice.

Can I also make clear, this isn't the mounting of a hate campaign against you. We just think you're being silly <ok>

To say like Supers did that Huckerby could have walked into our team at anytime is just very silly and arrogant! The guy was a one trick pony and if he was as good as you say then surely he would have realised his potential and been playing for a bigger club.

JWM, if you read the extracts from his book, he says he had the opportunity to play in Qatar, but, he says, that could only be about money, so it didn't appeal to me!

Of course he would have walked into the Ipswich side <doh>

A word of warning, JWM, if you behave like an ostrich with your head in the sand, it leaves your arse in a vulnerable position ;)

Darren Huckerby is better than any of the players in the Ipswich team now that's for sure. Huckerby is probably the best Norwich player I've seen in my life.

Not sure why you rate him so lowly JWM. I will agree he was not the full package as far as a footballer goes and indeed I do recall a massive cheer one day when he actually headed the damned ball (Not his strongest point <laugh> ).

On his day, in the Championship, which was probably 1 in every 2-2.5 games (probably a better ratio - I have never worked it out), he tormented defences almost at will (the same as he did with Forest). Unless you watched him for 90 minutes each and every game, as opposed to highlights here and there, you would have (I am sure, if you took your blue tinted specs off) seen much more and could have made a more valid assessment of his performances but the truth is you could not have seen that much of him unless you were a closet Budgie and attended all the games <ok>

In the PL he was very average but then again he was in a poor team by that standard but he still had enough about him to make a serious nuisance of himself on occasions.

    Remember this?

    A fair assessment Thai.

All I said is that he wouldn't have walked into any George Burley or Joe Royle side. I think that is a fair point to make. I like Supers but he does tend to get carried away at times.

In case anyone is thinking - oh well, it was only against Birmingham who are crap and cannot defend, here is another clip from when he was at Coventry against Man Utd

We're not claiming he was one of the best players of his generation Warky, just refuting your claim that he was an average championship player at best.
I think Superman said he'd have walked into either of our sides in the last 20 years. I couldn't go quite that far (I don't remember much about the Town side of 1991 for example!), but I'm certain that neither of our clubs would have turned down a player of his ability at any time during the last two decades.

It's easy to get carried away sometimes because players like him are close to supporters hearts (all part and parcel of football).
I would say we had Hucks right at the end of his best and we got 2 decent seasons out of him. Prior to that I think he probably could have played for any top Championship side and nearly any 10-20th place team in the PL.
