Mate we could have Maldini, Puyol and Vidic trying to coach our defence, wouldn’t make the slightest bit of difference.
In fact I’d rather ask those to come out of retirement and play for us rather than try coaching our CBs.
It’s honestly painful. In fairness to Toby he was a great player for us for about 3 and a half/ 4 years but he’s been on a massive downward spiral since, plus I feel like he snaked Poch and seemingly even Jose if reports are to be believed. Sanchez still hasn’t learned to cut out the mistakes and likely never will, whilst Dier is dire.
I know the feeling mate, i had a great art teacher who used to sit and pencil draw one of the class during lessons, it looked like a B+W foto at the end of class. He spent hours trying to teach me how to draw and i followed all his advice, my drawings looked like Picaso on a bad coke day
Hmmmm.... ....this bloke was national manager, FFS! ...and then there was this bloke, who liked to bring a 'friend' with him... Football management is about very little but communication. We need someone who can communicate how little the majority of the players are putting in and motivate them to drastically improve it. If your manager can't speak the primary language of his charges, the thing's totally ****ed, as far as I'm concerned. As we run low on domestic options, the risk of Levy turning up with a wild card who can't speak English increases.
In one clip, which has been run into the ground by the usual suspects, which is more than enough to tell you all you need to know
Here's the thing: Capello could speak English, as he often spoke in English when interviewed on Football Italia, but he didn't when he was England manager Now the obvious question is why, and there's two obvious reasons to explain it 1.) Much like Poch when he was at Southampton, rather than flub what he was saying and have it pounced on by the hacks he had an interpreter carry the can so what he said wouldn't get twisted for the sake of a headline 2.) He despises the hacks, so if he had to pretend to not speak English to keep them at arm's length, he was going to pretend he didn't speak English because they're too lazy and/or bigoted to bother to find out that he can
Sarri could speak English, as could Poch when he came to us...but they didn't to the press and when we lose a few...which we will, all the bad press and stupidity starts. Given how Levy's now a football leper, the club desperately needs a figure head to deal with the press. I don't want some bloke talking through a third party.
Just to be safe, should we start talking up how much we're looking forward to seeing us play under Roberto Martinez or Gareth Southgate? That should sort out contracts for them elsewhere
