Daily Mail suggests he is favourite for the job http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2048030/Nottingham-Forest-want-Steve-Cotterill-manager.html
Isn't it a bit 'out of the frying pan - into the fire' for Cotts? Apparently McLaren left for 2 reasons, 1. the lack of funds to build his own team and 2. because the players were 'happy as we are' ie in the championship and not inclined to extra training sessions to get into a premier league frame of mind. Whatever, Saturday is going to be interesting!
Honestly you get stuck into work for a few days and suddenly see a headline saying stability at Pompey threatened - I hope we keep SC as he has done a decent job under trying circumstances - I will though acknowledge that he has me perplexed re Rocha who was one of the most relaible and cultured CB's I have seen play for us - whether SC does go or not he will have my thanks for last season and for buying us a couple of decent players this season.
OK, so the media have gotten hold of half a story.........where pompey are concerned the media are only to happy to print anything, wether its true or not! Forest are keen on SC, forest have no intentions on paying any club compensation for their manager...........SC is under contract for at least the next 2 years, so unless PFC agree to a free move or Forest suddenly change their minds he aint going anywhere! He was at training today ( I saw him) and he has been in every day this week ,business as usual...........and although slightly distracting he will remain at PFC until the owners say other wise. Saturday is a massive day, we need a win, to boost morale and sound out to others that FP is not the place to come and take easy points, whgich has been the case so far, but the fans ned to be in attendance and in voice! So you all there
It's certainly a must win game on Saturday bornpompey. I trust SC will play two up front, to give us a fighting chance, otherwise I fear for his future.
After seeing the Frank Clark interview i don't think SC will be tempted to go to Forest. Better the Devil you Know When you say you fear for his future W_d, does that mean you think Pompey could possibly sack him ?
I was thinking of offering my services Probably S Gray - Cotts has apparently gone to the training ground to set up the training session for tomorrow (and have a big party - apparently)
I was also thinking of offering my services, but the new owners might think my views are too moderate. Well maybe a new broom will work wonders.
SB3's last words to the players in the changing rooms before they go out on to the pitch: "C'mon boys, go and show those arrogant, stripey, carrot crunching, pony-pumpers who the real team on the south coast is" Having said that, SC probably subjected his players to an accute attack of Tourettes...
Supposed 25 million quid takeover of Forest by the Chinese being reported today maybe a factor of him going
