He is a winger though..... and highly rated... he almost went to Man City... 18.... I guess one for the future... but does not answer our goal scoring problems. Toney is much more like what we want
But we are not spending 30m on any player this coming year, even if we need it. It took 5 years in the prem to build up to even one 30m+ signing. No, it is more of the same. Free or cheap or prospects. Young & Vydra come into the free & cheap category as does the Chelsea 3rd teamer loanee and the Rochdale reject comes into the prospect category. This is the best we can hope for.
TBF The lad from Rochdale was going to join Man City in January but it fell through for some reason so he must have some talent and guy who has been at Chelsea will too. Sometimes a young player at a big club needs to move on to a "lesser" club and build their career. Trouble is the big boys stockpile these kids making them feel like they are the next best thing but then throw them out onto the scrapheap and they don't recover. Having said that we will need some sort of fairly proven experienced strike force but that won't be easy to get within our budget.
This is from the start of the season. How reliable do you think this is? We know about the top 2 but Sarr on 70k seems unlikely and it’s a big gap to the rest . https://salarysport.com/football/sk...ntQeQFUakfjQsPnuK-nnNmM1PP3WoQPuNCd5gtFq9alYY
Wasn’t there one at the beginning of the season that had Sarr on £100k? The rest looks familiar. There are a few on there that need a rethink. Ken Sema on £11k is for starters! Daniel B on £4.4k? That one, too.
Sarr won’t be on 100k. Gray and Deeney are the highest paid. Maybe explains why Sema got a new contract.
OK, cool. It did say £100k, but I agree that is a lot for untested in the Prem, as was. Did Deeney re-sign, I don’t remember? The figures I saw had him on £66k and Gray () on £75k.
Yes, not knocking those options that appear to have some truth in them, in fact I'm happy that the club are fiscally sound. Had we had the money for Toney last year then it would have been a great bit of business but that chance has gone. I may be wrong but I think Peterborough have another hot prospect we could go for?
Jordan Parkes kept a clean sheet for Barnet tonight in their 2-0 win at Weymouth. Barnet were down to ten men for the last half an hour.
My bad, it's Adam Parkes. Still ours, and a young man... https://www.watfordfc.com/news/official-parkes-joins-barnet-on-loan

Interesting articles....... and again brings up mixed feelings for me about the man..... you have to admire him though..and wish him well. If he cna put oin a shift for us next season it will be very welcome... and no doubt he will be highly motivated....
Well a manager has gone . Youth team coach left. https://theathletic.com/2565809/202...ademy-shake-up-richard-thomas-first-to-leave/
I think after 8 season the owners realise that the long term future is with OUR academy and not picking up cheap prospects from others We have to get that part of our setup sorted out fast We should be producing Ivan Toneys through our academy and not paying others to do it for us
