Very few go for a Saints loss, but quite a few have gone for a draw. I think there is still a sense that fans think we are in a false position and those teams just below us must be stronger than us. So going for a draw is just a means of covering ourselves against disappointment. I would suggest that if you go for a win all season you'll be right more often than not.

3-2 To the Saints, dont think we will keep a clean sheet in this game, reckon Lallana will score the winner in the last 10mins. With Lambert and Hammond getting the other two. COYR

I predict revenge for the playoff game with a hard fought victory in front of a rocking stadium - Lallana and Lambert to score.

As a player said recently: We fear no one; they should fear us.

Hi guys, a Derby fan here.

I've been looking at your posts regarding the game on Saturday, and it seems many of you would be happy with a draw. Personally, so would I! Saints are going really well at the moment. Good luck to you for this season - I'd love to see you back in the Premier League, where I think you belong (along with Derby, F****t and Sheff Wed).

Someone mentioned the games against Coventry and Lester, and whilst it's true we were ****e, those were away games. At home, things are a little different - we're pretty strong at PPS.

I hope this will be a belter. As someone commented before, we like to play a bit (less than last season, when our reliance on short passing football didn't suit the players we had), and so do Saints. It depends on who's fit - I think Jamie Ward and Zinedine Kilbane are back, but Nathan Tyson is still out. We'll probably go 4-2-3-1, but could go 4-4-2, depending on whether James Bailey is fit (and I don't think he is). I don't really know how S'hampton are lining up tactically at the moment, but if Cywka plays, and I'm not sure he will, then you'll have lots of pace to deal with, as Steven Davies is pretty nippy as well. And look out for Bryson making runs from deep-midfield.

One thing you need to look out for is set-pieces and crosses into the box. Ben Davies has started to find his form after looking terrible at the end of last season (he's 29 or 30, signed from Notts County last January, after having previously played for Shrewsbury. I think those facts tell the story).

Anyway, how do you think Saints will line up? I must admit, I'm a little ignorant of your team at the moment. Or is that the secret - you have an under-rated side, and yet you're top?! A bit like Brighton perhaps? Obviously Lambert is superb (he's averaging more than a goal every two games, I think), and Llanana is a great player (I seem to remember Derby wanting him a year or two ago?)

Like I say, good luck to you for the season. I think if I had to choose between Derby and Southampton to go up this season, I'd go for Saints. As for Derby, a top 10 finish would do me fine.

Repeat of our Leicester game me thinks: Derby win 3-2 (or 2-1).

If Saints start quick and get a lot of ball to Lambert in the box early I think we will win by the odd goal and at least one penalty. The key is to get their defense to be really wary of Lambert by quality passing to him and him battling defenders.
If Derby control the midfield and put pressure on our full backs, kepping them fully rooted near our box, then Derby will win.
My prediction Saints to win 2-1, Lambert(pen) & Do Prado to score.

We basically play 4-4-2, but with so much movement between our attacking players you can sometimes call it 4-2-4 (when Lallana and Guly on the wings are pushing forward) or 4-5-1 (when Connolly or Lambert pull out wide).

We have two full backs that love to bomb on, and two holding central midfielders that start the attacks and give the forward players some freedom to play (dont expect to see either of them getting into your penalty box too much!). Slight shaky at the back, but we generally score more than we concede.

But without a doubt, the creativity and interplay between the main front 4 of Lallana, Guly, Lambert and Connolly has been quite something this season and resulted in numerous goals scores and chances created.

Saints will want to sort it out on the road after a couple (perhaps a tad unlucky) defeats. Hopefully break has given the defensive partnership some more time to gel. Confident we'll create chances. Prediction........ummmm gonna start believing we really really are good enough to sustain form. 2- 1 Saints.

In the first two away games we were superb, but in the last three away we have struggled. If we allow Derby to dominate in the way we have allowed others recently, then I feel we will do well to get a positive result.
If we can absorb pressure and get our passing game going then we have a good chance, but lately our passing has started to fail when we are under the cosh.

Having said that, even when we haven't played all that well we have still created good chances. At Leicester, Burnley and Cardiff we missed some real sitters and had they been taken would surely have changed the outcome.

Yep. I'm banking on the fact that we still create chances and could of come away with something at those away games. This time maybe we will.

As Brendy says, its basically a 442, but the front 4 move about a lot, so it's really what we want it to be.

    Davis
    Richardson...Fonte...Hooiveld...Fox
    Guly...Hammond...Cork...Lallana
    Lambert...Connolly

Bart, Chaplow, Schneiderlin, Holmes, De Ridder
