I think you'll find it's nothing to do with 12. It is purely down to goal difference.

And if you want I can argue that we are mathematically safe using the laws of probability

 

I like that phrase.

 

That's fine to present that but you cannot say we're safe mathematically if we win today and that's what you said Mr Peterson.

 

I know I’m stating the obvious here.

Win today and points wise the worst case scenario is both on 39 and it’s down to goal difference.

That would mean us losing every game and them winning every game. That’s possible but highly unlikely.

But as said we are not safe using the branch of mathematics called arithmetic.

A higher branch of maths is probability and under this we are safe.

Therefore my conjecture is safe

 

I'd argue we're safe already based on probability, but factually we aren't.

 

We're talking mathematically not factually

 

Algebra comes before Arithmetic alphabetically and, therefore, is on a higher level in my bookcase.
