GOW3 has had extremely positive reviews, stop chatting **** about a game you clearly know nothing about.
The online is terrible. It's had good reviews from GOW fanboys only. I've got the game so I can clearly give my opinion. The first GOW was excellent - after that they've failed big-time.
I know IGN and gamespot have given it good reviews - but that's mostly for the single player. From my point of view it's a pile of **** that hasn't evolved hardly from the last one.
COD and Battlefield are pretty much the best when it comes to FPS, I played Crysis 2 on PS3 and it was pretty good. Mix between Halo and COD, has some of the futuristic ideas from halo, but the game play is more similar to COD.
I've had to refrain from smashing the controller over my head about 10 times with fifa 12 - but I do think in the end, when everyone gets used to it, the defending will be much better. Was too easy to close people down instantly on fifa 11.
I'm with most people on this thread. Attacking is great because you get more time on the ball, as you do in real life. The flip side is that defending is harder than it's ever been. Loads of times I've been battering them at the other end, then they slip away and get an easy goal. I've lost some games 3-0 that I would've probably won 3-0 on fifa 11, because it's harder to get on the end of crosses too. One other thing that bugs me is the passing sometimes. When I'm trying to slip a ball through to a player, he'll pick out somebody else who is marked instead. I'm not sure if it's the assisted passing or whatever, but it gets a bit annoying at times. Overall though, a decent game that'll take some getting used to.
i could do without the defensive changed purely because im awful enough as it is at defending, its not uncommon for me to let in 7/8 goals againsst my friends
From what I remember from previous FIFAs, defending counts for nothing when you are level or winning by 1 in the last couple of minutes. The computer decides to stop any of your player's ability to challenge and gives the opposition an extra 5 yards of pace and scores anyway. It's like the game makes up its mind in that they will score here no matter what you try.
No manual! I like to refer to a manual at half time etc, but EA have saved money on that & decided not to print one please log in to view this image
I play FIFA12 on the xbox and the other day i loaded up my game and all my good players had gone. suarez kuyt carrol adam lucas etc. They had all been replaced with GK with no names and rating of 10. Has this happend to any one else?
It's funny how FIFA12 divides opinion. Personally I think it's immense, undoubtedly the best football game ever, and I've been playing footy games back since Matchday on the Spectrum 48k The defending is more realistic, and the physics engine, although occasionally funny, for the most part adds a whole new level to the game. I understand the PES fanboys, I was indeed a FIFA hater in the PS2 days, PES was absolutely by far the better game. But this isn't 2007 anymore. For me, FIFA is now excellent.
Jeez - I agree completely, I am loving this years effort. It is incredibly frustrating when you concede a last minute goal after dominating the game but equally is fist pumpingly great when you score the winner in a game you have been under the cosh in! I'm up to league 7 now online and fear this may be my ceiling! Not as good as SWOS tho ;-)
Have to point out the irony here. You claim Gears of War hasn't changed since the last, but you praise Call of Duty which has been the same game reskinned 4 times, with the 5th reskin coming out later this year.
I guess all that points out is my preference for COD rather than GOW - your point being? BTW - I still think COD4 is the best COD game.
So you hate Gears, your reason being it hasn't changed much since its last installment. But you eagerly anticipate another waterdown Call of Duty title which hasn't changed at all since CoD4.
Whatever floats your boat I guess. I find Gears 3 to be a major improvement over the previous titles, both single and multiplayer modes, but my opinion of CoD has declined with each installment released.
