Take some consolation from the fact that for all the financial largesse etc, the Sugga Daddy FCs have failed to become the Empire. And long may that continue (because it really p*sses off the narcissism of their owners) .
Allegri's rumoured to be returning to Juve I have to say I hope that's true, because it seems he took a year out and was waiting for clubs to be beating down his door when he announced he was ready to return to management - and instead nobody seemed to be that interested
Yeah reread my point. They didn’t try to base their success (short term as it was) on trying to compete with the rich boys. They went a different direction.
My post was referring to Powerspurs post about increasing revenue from qualifying for CL to compete and increase the chances of winning trophies in the future.
FootballBSider claim we've offered to triple Brendan Rodgers' wages if he joins us Gee, I wonder why I'm predicting this has nothing to it...
There is no other way to ensure success than having more money. There will be the odd short term upset like Leicester but that doesn't mean that an alternative strategy exists.
Whether we spent the money correctly is a different argument but we would certainly be worse off if didn't have it.
I've seen us linked with Ralf Rangnick ( who ain't we linked with ) what the thoughts on him, never really heard of him
For the last 5 years, he's been a DoF who steps up when they sack someone. He's in his 60's and never managed in the PL.... I'm out.
It's probably fair enough, which is why.... 1. Appointing Mourinho was insane; 2. We need a DoF, preferably before Levy does something equally, or more insane, this time around.
Big influence on the current German/Austrian coaches with regards to style of play, especially with gegenpressing. Ran the whole Red Bull set-up (Leipzig, Salzburg, etc.).
I respect your opinion - but I am not having Dele over Chris Waddle - but that's football opinions for you!
I am bonkers as PS said, but not mad enough to want Walker over Stevie P. One's really just an athlete, with a mistake in him every game, the other's a proper footballer, who could actually defend, tackle, read the game, pass the ball and was the leader every team's crying out for.... actually, I'm not as bonkers as I thought I was.
