England were destined to fail next summer anyway, now without shrek they have a ready made excuse. Just like the rugby team English footballers have the wrong mindset & attitude to succeed.
Regardless of the world rankings there's at least 5 teams better than England- Spain,France,Germany,Italy & Holland.
    So,shrek or no shrek.....no chance.

Fair enough point TOWIE... er sorry LiE. Interesting though to see the incident close up. Much as it grieves me to say so, I'm not sure that Rooney made that much contact with the other player. He went down & rolled around a bit, & yes Rooney was a prat. But not sure it really was worth a sending off & 3 match ban. That said, tosser. He'll rue that mistake... as he counts his millions whilst waiting to visit his old man in Belmarsh or Strangeways!!!

This actually makes me optimistic about England's chances.

It feels like everyone is trying to build the team around Rooney, who then strolls on to the pitch and does nothing. With him gone, the team will be encouraged to play more as a unit.

England are better off without him.

I would disagree about Italy, they completely flopped at the WC and still haven't recovered.
