Sad times.

 

It hit me really hard again yesterday. The singer on that track, a girl called Ella has written a song about him that will be played at his funeral. I listened to it yesterday and cried like a baby.

Funny thing grief innit, just when you think you've got your head around it, it comes and hits you head on like a freight train.

Found this by accident when looking for something completely different . Jave a sneaking suspicion i met him when i was youth .

 

Paul's Boutique is such a sick album. Really went under the radar when it dropped too.

Fave track is this: The first 20 seconds of that song is pure New York B-Boy, really distinctive sound

Yeah blew me away at the time. Stands the test of time well.

 

i gave it 20 seconds, well 22, and i hate you.

 

Yeah amazing album. Same with Check your Head, that blew me away when it dropped too.

You should read the book, brilliant stuff and typically inventive and different.

 

Oh and I nicked the bass line from this track at 2:07 for a song we did in that band I posted the other day.

Beasties sampled it from **** knows where, so I figured it was okay to nick it
