I think you can read the recycled version in the Evening Standard. The long and the short of it is that various Councils that the Telegraph contacted are still recruiting Covid Marshals on contracts that start on 1st July 2021 and end on 31 January 2022 with the possibility of a one year extension, despite us supposedly all being freed on 21st June 2021. Hertfordshire County Council is offering a £3m contract but the money does not come from council tax but central government grants. So ostensibly what is going on here is local government is milking central government for free money while Socialist Sunak is getting it off the Magic Money Tree. I would have suggested that it was only Tory Councils with their snouts in the trough (Hertfordshire and Northumberland are Tory) but Sunderland is Labour so it looks like a case of who is smart enough to grab it. They will soon be back to moaning that they do not get enough money from central government. The reason that deaths have dropped below pre-pandemic average death levels is because all those old people that died in 2020 cannot die again. This is not You Only Live Twice.
I've only spoken to one 'covid marshal' since they were introduced, and that was just him laughing at how ridiculous the whole situation was, declaring that he thought the virus itself was non-existent and that he couldn't believe he was earning £12 an hour to walk around and do nothing.
One came into my office a few weeks ago, luckily Petr, Rudi and Stanislav were out buying dried fish so I was in by myself. The guy asked "Is this Lochrie Sheds (Carntyne) Ltd 5088?" I said "yes" "Do you work here yourself" I lied and said "yes" He replied, "this won't take long then" and then he ****ed off. Shudder to think what he'd have done if the Slavs were in.
You need a negative Covid-19 test swabbed anally to stand outside a pub wearing a face mask. Can't wait to be free again on 7th June, I don't like sitting down anyway it's overrated
So it's basically a pointless number with nothing to base it on or judge it against? Maybe people who have had the jab are less likely to get blood clots, who knows if you don't produce the data.
