Brentford v Watford. In an alternative universe and only really a few weeks back this was going to be a massive game to help decide the promotion positions. Brentford, coupled with the final game against Swansea were going to make the Hornet's promtion race go right down to the wire. However, Watford can now enjoy it against Brentford after securing promotion. We saw with Norwich though, who lost two on the bounce after going up, how much the excitement and releif of promotion can negate performances. The club have even opened goal of the season voting which seems a bit strange to me with two games to go. I hope Muñoz doesn't let his team slack off until after the final whistle against Swansea when they then, and only then, deserve a decent break. We need to win our last two and Norwich to lose theirs to secure 1st spot, unrealistic but still slightly possible. We have to give it a shot as the silverware cupboard won't be getting any fuller next season. The play-offs are locked with teams just sorting out final positions. Team news: Kiko is out. Success will still be hungover. Muñoz to be beaming from the sideline. ¡¡COYH COYH COYH!!
Actually two Watford wins, say 1-0 and 2-0 and Norwich only picking up a point would do it: need a four goal swing as well as the results going our way. Unlikely, to the point of being greedy!
I was going to send a PM but you have the facility switched off. Crazy that we're promoted at all let alone in the running for the title. I think Watford will get the wins, I can't see Norwich not winning one of the last two, alas.
Agreed.... and will be such a 'relief' to watch a game without the tension that has been around for weeks....
The order of Norwich's fixtures is in their favour imo. I can see them losing to Barnsley, but not Reading. Had the fixtures been the other way around, the final day may have been more interesting, with more pressure on Norwich. But you never know - we may even drop points on Saturday anyway.
That sounds very much like I will be putting out the strongest possible team. This game is not the one to play youngsters for the experience.
He says whilst there is still the chance for the title, he will play his strongest team. However, if the title has gone by the time we play Swansea, I would not be surprised given the 5 substitute rule, if TD9 is given a few minutes as the last appearance maybe? as well as Tom Dele-Bashiru as a reward for his work in regaining fitness after his lengthy injury.
They will probably want to win just to prove a point but hopefully we’ll perform ourselves. Some might be playing for their positions next season.
Afternoon all! Rain just started after a nice sunny morning so don't feel guilty about not gardening. As both don't have much to play for it could be fun or a damp squib, lets hope the players who have been given a chance show what they can do. Shame about Kiko. Am on Hive.
