It’s a 3 way fight for 6th / 7th between us, you lot and Spurs imo.

It should be. I don't even see west ham falling back from 5th towards it now.

Certainly 8th is very very possible for us unless we pull our thumbs our of our arses. two clean sheets fo us and we would be safe. Now we've a huge amount of work to do.

Spurs have ballsed themselves up here. They could have taken the league cup slot and laughed but sacked mourinho in another levy ego trip. they have/had 4 very winnable games up to the final day.

You have 3 tougher games in there. West ham is a big one. then 2 v villa isn't it? then city last up.

We obviously can't be trusted to win any of ours. Utd are certainly tough but the others are all quite possible to **** up with the same draws.

I’ve given up looking at our fixtures and seeing games we should and shouldn’t win.

We’ve won away at Lesta, Liverpool, Spurs, Leeds and Arsenal whilst conceding only one goal. We got a point at United, and the only top half side to have beaten us at their place so far, is Chelsea.

Meanwhile we’ve got beaten at home by the absolute dregs of the division.

    So, who knows.

Nobody's actually bothered, it seems. It really must be down to the lack of crowds.

Leicester like a cat licking its own balls this morning. Smug.

Kasper Schmeichel talking rubbish about rodgers restoring "their identity"

IMO they are better than they were when ranieiri lucked into that title. Back then it was defended deep, two blockers in front of the big fat CBs and lump it as mahrez and vardy. This team has so much more about them. I'm certainly supporting them for the final V Scabsea.

If ever there was a case of a team throwing away their CL chances then it would be this team. Simply ridiculous. No wonder Klopp was so angry.

Very last chance now. We have to think we can get a win against MU especially after their Thursday match. A win If difficult should provide us with the confidence to win the last 4. If that happens Chelsea would need to win 4 out of 5 which looking at their fixtures won’t be easy for them either. West Ham would be in the boat as us.

    Where there is hope...

nah its gone. its in effect 2 losses required from chelsea due to GD. 3-0-2 is what we would need from them. Its not impossible i SUPPOSE given their games but they start with fulham this weekend and then end wit villa so those are assumed won and then theres ARSENAL. so thats their third win. They only need that to get to 67 and then we need to win all 5.

Leicester need just the 3 wins and have southampton and newcastle next (assume wins) then they have a few that are tougher. in theory 2 wins would do.

then west ham have it easier. 55 points but have eminently winnable games. 4 for sure plus everton. that would put them an 67 as well.

We have blown it. we would need to win 5 to get 69 and it aint happening.

I am now looking at 7th and 8th.

Spurs have sacked mourinho and seriously ****ed themselves over. Sheff utd, Leeds, wolves, villa and leicester. they should win 3?

that means we need to win 3 from 5. Unless we score 3 in the first half i can't see us winning any of the games right now. we need a serious attitude adjustment.

8th is certainly possible for us now. 6th is as of today out of our hands. 5th is our very best finish and would imo require winning 4 games looking at the fixtures west ham have left.

Our form is worse than spurs form that got pochettino the sack. We need to be clear here. This summers transfers will decide his fate.

looking at the maths and not the probability of events re Chelsea.

If we win the last 5 matches we finish on 69 points. If Chelsea win 3 and draw 2 they finish equal on 69 with a likely superior GD. If they win 3 but draw one they finish on 68. So we don't need them to lose 2. I loss and 1 draw would be good enough (for us) in that scenario.

Not saying all this is very likely to happen but us winning at MU will definitely put pressure on them and west ham.

I dunno, chelsea have a double to play for so they could mess up given the difficulty of games they have but there are for sure 3 wins in there for them if they even perform at the expected level.

yes winning would apply pressure but at this point the win would be a bigger deal for europa for us. I suppose your point on very last chance is fair, time to pull the thumb out of our arses or face the reality.

    Chelsea are actually disappointing here.

They are clearly well able to swarm this real side and run them to death.

They scored nice and early but have gone cautious which is tuchel all over.

This tie could be over in a half if they applied themselves.

They’re where they are on merit, fair play to Rodgers he’s done a great job so far.

Schmeichel was talking about their style and what the team was all about. They won the league playing largely hoofball counter, hit the quick lad stuff. They then tried to play more possession football but reverted back when they couldn’t compete. Rodgers has instilled a consistent method of play to them, so I make him right, particularly when he’s actually lived through all of it. You just sound bitter tbh.

You called them smug and had a pop at Schmeichel for being honest, then give them some faint praise whilst hoping they’d do the Chavs in the cup lol.

They are smug. Its descriptive, same as a cat licking it's own balls. Why? Cos they can be smug for winning.

My point was schmeichel was wrong they are better than they were then as stated. They were very much a negative side in terms of that secure base playing to the front couple of players but ow are far more.

Me thinks you are just picking another fight for the sake of it :)
