CROSSED MY MIND 16/1 Punchestown 7:00 Was in good form earlier in the season over fences, winning twice and going up 18lbs in the process. The hat-trick bid was foiled at Leopardstown but I think that was in part due to the trip stretching his stamina. He then switched to hurdles and ran a decent enough race in a race that has already produced a winner. That spin over hurdles would have put him bang right and back to his optimum trip I really rate his chances. Only 18 career starts so not impossible that there is more to come. One of a host of JP entries so you really want to see a positive market move.
Just to further kick connections of Kitty’s Light in the bollocks following the Whitbread stewards ruling he got a 4lb ratings rise for his efforts. Potterman ‘won’ and goes up 1lb.
Good Morning all. Posted yesterday and thought I would post again here early doors. Last time this ran out I was sent a nudge from a good friend to back it. Round The Island ran a good race coming a staying on second. It was 3/1 then. Pontefract 3.50 - 6 Round The Island Although the price is actually bigger than I thought it would be today at 5/1. Its in good order and expected to run a good race. Good luck if you play. Fingers crossed it will get its head in front today! Ps: I am tempted to double it with Pilgrims selection he posted up earlier. Golpin Des Champs.
You will be pleased to know that my big bet of the day runs in the 3.50 and I haven't selected yours. There's one less competitor you need to worry about
Another day in which I like quite a few - sorry for aftertiming a few prices but they were selected on prices as well as form - 3.10 Gallipoli - Really surprised he was marked up as the outsider of the four. He ran poorly on return, finishing well beaten, but that only tells half the story. He traded at half his BSP in the run and whilst well beaten in the end I thought he showed enough to suggest that run was for fitness and that he would improve for it. Today he comes up against a field which he could outclass from top weight. I am working on the proviso that Cote D'Azure race last time wasn't very good! 4:25 Julie Johnston - I've gone for the pace angle here. This horse is normally fast away and these conditions look perfect for this filly. I am hopeful that she has got more development up her sleeve and I think in a race that she could dominate from the front I thought she was a fair price. 6:40 Spirit Of May - Good record on artificial surfaces, one of the likelier pace angles, only C&D winner in the line up yet is priced up as one of the outsiders. I have had a bet on at 17/2 . 6:50 Night Moment - Was really surprised to get 10/3 on this one last night. To me he has the best form in the book, comes from a yard who like running horses at Brighton and for me he only has Arsonist to worry about on this seasons raw form (i.e neither have run and the rest have raced poorly). I took fitness on trust but given market support it seems they've got him primed here.
Punchestown 7.00. Snugsborough Hall. 20/1 Bet Victor. Three chase wins in 2019 shot his rating up from 127 to 143 and he’s struggled since off that mark. However, two runs ago he ran off a mark of 142- five pounds higher than Livelovelaugh and, despite being checked twice, he still had a chance at the last. A horse falling in front of him put paid to that. He then ran against Livelovelaugh again over the big Aintree fences (getting 2 lb) but, dropped in at the rear, he could only make late headway to finish fourth. Back over park fences today and , getting 14 lb from Mullins’ horse, his reduced mark of 135 gives him an outstanding chance.
Wolverhampton 1.15 The Resdev Way On a dangerous mark and last run on tapeta in a bumper at Newcastle 2 runs ago was not without promise. Becky Smith a decent booking especially in a amateur rider event. Stable has a good each way record with handicappers at Wolverhampton over the last 5 seasons: runs 31 wins 6 places 13 PL 56.33 Trip will no problem today according to the Micky Hammond website. Worth a small each way bet to start a day full of interesting racing
One 50/1 winner and one 16/1 winner. 0 from 5 in amateur handicaps at the course. Very interesting angle, The Resdev Way is the most prolific of these on artificial surfaces but that form is quite a long time ago. If you got the 14/1 then you are in a great position. I am currently betting on a systems approach, which looks at sires over staying trips, the two in this that flag up as bets are Sinndarella and Parisien Affair as such I hope we see a winner for Pandora Briseldon who best not get boxed in!! BTW, if Barney is around, that is a properly lovely name for a filly isn't it? Pandora Briseldon. I bet she knows the forums favourite trainer with a name like that.
RIGHTPLACERIGHTTIME 33/1 Skybet 7 places in the first at Punchestown. Could have had 40s with 365 but prefer the extra places angle. Has one cracking piece of form in the book which was a second to The Bosses Oscar. A reproduction of that run on today terms would easily be enough to see him hose up here. Not been in the same form since so I am pinning my hopes on this being a layout for today job. My tip later on has not seen any of the JP millions yet and the owners BLAZER has so I have covered my bet with that one as well.
It crossed my mind to have a bet on this but can't get a bet on from here; a case of being in the right place at the right time I suppose
Day 2 @ Punchy 3:40 - Falak, 18/1 4:15 - Gevrey, 18/1 4:50 - Panda Boy, 9/1 5:20 - Vanillier, 3/1 5:55 - CDO, 4/1 6:30 - Kilcruit, 11/8 7:00 - Tiger Voice, 7/1 7:35 - Mollys Glory, 12/1 If you thought yesterday was hard to pick a winner, today is way way harder to me...!! Good luck if you are playing today...
