The irony isn’t lost I’m sure https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/britain-...omTJKB8r9Sbew613ojtjnvYH1ifGKYyfzZTNgxMiJhgz8
The key word in my post was a one syllable, two letter word...'if'. Let's wait and see what evidence becomes available. This story popped up on my news feed via the Daily Mail. That bloody Tory rag trying to discredit a Tory government hey
Cummings has landed a bigger blow on Boris i totally agree. I have now read two stories on the so called comments and both differ? I really can’t imagine the Prime minister of this country saying stuff like that when he nearly died himself and in personal messages says he is deeply saddened by the death toll. We will have to wait and see I guess.
Just for the record Ellers, if there is actual evidence of Boris saying that would you say he needs to resign and he's a disgrace?
I'm the opposite, I really can imagine the PM saying something like this. He says all sorts without any thought.
Well if he did actually say that then it doesn’t bode well for him. It would also depend on the context ( if he said it). If found guilty I would imagine that people within the party may want him gone. Us Tories are a funny bunch, We are loyal until we are not.
Oh well, at least you are consistent (i.e. you'll wait which way the tory party wind blows before denouncing him, if he even gets denounced or defend him)
Boris is a winner and the Tories know he will always beat Sir Starmer. It may not be in their interest to get rid... if found to have made those comments. TBH i am more interested in getting back to work and the pub again.
I think this is exactly right, which is why the public are likely to roll their eyes and say this is Boris letting off steam again. IF he said it, it was bloody stupid, but I don't think many will believe he meant it (particularly when he nearly died of the virus in hospital himself). It's hyperbole. The UK are predicted to be the fastest growing economy in the developed world this year largely because of the success of the vaccine roll out. That matters to voters more than Boris sounding off or redecorating the flat above 11 Downing Street.
I have just bumped into a chap walking his dog who basically said "I don't care what he said, who decorated his house or what Cameron done. I am just interested in getting back to life and going to the pub". Spot on sir! I think most people feel the same.
As much as I want to counter argue that, I'm struggling to. There may be 130,000 angry families but that won't change the dynamics of the government.
What is this obsession with going to the pub? Its all that some seem bothered about. I have loads of friends who have said the same thing as Ellers just said.
I might be being old-fashioned but I’m enjoying the ability to go to pubs, gyms etc. and still care a bit about the (lack of) action leading to thousands of totally avoidable deaths.
Not at all i know exactly what i wrote. Funny i thought someone might say i was contradicting myself. Just to clarify i don't want to go to the pub as it is now. However I do want to return to a pub where i can sit inside without a mask and all the BS.
