They have played this way fairly frequently this season - expect Foden to play as a false 9 and we probably won't have a clue who is picking him up. Plenty of goals in that side with Gundogan, DeBruyne, Foden, Mahrez and Sterling
With the team we’ve selected we’ve obviously gone for graft over quality, basically Jose-esque. It’s worked two out of three teams against City but the form both sides are in it’s hard to see it working again. A likely 80% fit Kane, Son who’s been looking leggy of late and Bale on the bench, I really am struggling to see how we’re gonna score. Going into this with zero expectations anyway so I guess I can’t be disappointed... (I still will be)
Agreed. I just wish everyone would take the same view on our team if we went with Ndombele, Lo Celso, Dele, Son and Bergwijn in Kane's absence.
That's the best we can hope for imho...this could be like their final against the goons when they won 3 nil...and stopped trying after 60 mins...or worse the Watford final
It’s because pretty much everyone else acknowledges there’s practically zero goals in that outside of Son. We don’t have anywhere near the quality of City to play like that.
I wonder if the feeling is that Bale has 45 mins in him at his best and the first half is likely to be cagey. Unleash him in the second half.
Given the pace in the Mansour starting xi and vastness of the Wembley pitch, I'm surprised that Sanchez isn't starting and we're using the slowest CBs in the squad Lucky we've given Winksy a rest, he'll be tracking runners all game
It's like waiting outside the headmasters room, with a book lining your ass-pocket...expecting six. Those on here who attended old style school will know the feeling.
He’s got more than 45 min in him though I reckon. I can understand why Mason has likely done what you’ve said but I just massively disagree with it. Should always pick your best players in my opinion and Bale on that right flank is our best player for the position.
But for this to happen, he'd have to break the habit of a lifetime and actually pass the ball forwards. He's got more chance of being subbed off by half-time, if you ask me... but of course, I hope I'm wrong.
Think ST holders had to apply...they had to do covid test etc. The remaining 4000 went to locals and NHS staff
This is awful. the way to beat citeh is to go long and attack them, we are going to be destroyed if we continue like this
Against Southampton we played the long game, cagey in the first half and upping the tempo in the second Not sure if that's possible today, as being cagey at Wembley is damn near impossible due to the size of the pitch and upping the tempo could wear us out
