He was involved with a lot of artists - and The Sisters of Mercy look very out of place amongst that group. I had a friend who became obsessed with them. 6 minutes dirges were never my thing though - the Ramones could get through 4 songs in that time.
This next song is dedicated to Florentino Perez, who has seen his dreams crumble into ash for the second time in twelve years...
Will not and cannot forgive him for his collaboration with Meatloaf though, sorry to the Steinman family
RIP Les McKeown - Can't say I was a huge fan of the rollers, they pre date my real interest in music by a couple of years and they made a style of music that has never really appealed to me. But they were hugely popular, particularly with girls.

He hasn't done it in a while...but never say never! There is a significant sub-set of fans who never wanted him back in the band.....I like the bloke and I am happier to have him back than not.
Brian, I was talking with an old mate of mine from when we went to a lot of gigs, we got round to talking about the 100 club and how you would always come out stinking of Chinese food because they had a kitchen in there that served food before gigs , tell me I'm not going mad will you or was it another venue ???? Ps yes to the Captain in the band although he was a bit of a dick over the years
Yes, it was at the far end (where the loos are). I can't remember exactly when it closed, maybe 1980? Due to minimal extraction from the kitchen, everything reeked of it. All my money went over the bar....
My old leather jacket used to reek of stir fry for weeks after a visit , not surprising really as the sweat would run down the walls after a good gig
It's not the same anymore.....it would be closed as a health hazard....and rightly so. But like the old Shelf Side, I miss that rawness.
