I always try to have a balanced view, and while it's painful now, while it would have been great,I don't think promotion this season was an absolute must in KLD plans. This squad is the worsed in our history, having said that, it's not the players fault, they're simply not good enough.

We have umpteen players out of contract that simply couldn't give a **** anymore. If we do spend another season in league one, then I believe KLD will want rid of most if not all of them that are still under contract, and get some championship quality in.

    STID.

This, not a single team will be fearing us. We’re a shambles at the back

I’m worried now, very worried. The tinkering just doesn’t stop, we have started conceding sloppy goals and plenty of them, manager needs to stop tinkering & stop the rot quickly.

The play-offs are a lottery tho and form goes out the window. Whilst I've said mentally we're weak, no-one knows how others will handle it. I'm a glass half - full type of person.

Considering how little game time he has had thought Hume was excellent today.

The players seem really fragile to me. We were in control and playing some decent stuff but when we concede they react badly. We start going long and dont press when we do. They need to cope with set backs but they dont seem to have the character at the minute. It is worrying to watch.

I would love to know if Burge made a call to O'Nien for their second. Surely he cant have. It was a disaster and as a keeper you have to call. If he did then O'Nien has had a shocker.

Sanderson is a massive miss, as is Maclaughlin. We are hopeless defending deep balls to the back post. Again today neither full back had a clue if anyone was behind them, mind you it was a relief to see Hume back in. I agree with those saying we would be better with a back 3. Hume would be superb and I would play Gooch right wing back (mad decision to sub him today should have been O'Brien if we wanted to go 433).

The days of a "strongest starting XI" are long gone. Especially during a pandemic with 3 games a week.

We've played this formation before and won games though, it's not like the players don't know how to play it. And even if we did control the Hull game, we still got a draw, same as today. Nowt wrong with the tactics or the formation today imo, after all it was good enough for us to be 2-0 up after the first half. Players have switched off for the second imo and that's a mentality issue. And again tbf, we know there are players who don't have the required mental strength that we need, today just confirms it.

It's at times like this that I am thankful that the rehab has worked and I am 100% weaned off RTG. Staying clean for the rest of my days.

Agreed. This two in midfield thing has never worked when he has tried it. He needs to acknowledge he doesn't have the players for it.

You said it, and I would add Patterson said this at Xmas, but think it is a bit too late now tbh. probably see McFadz back in the team before any of the U23's are tried, as they might just prove in reality that the king of the fairies has no clothes. They might even save his skin, its a funny old game is football. OaU

Fair points and I don't 100% disagree but I think the manager needs to be a bit more pragmatic.
There is nothing wrong with the formation We could and probably should have been out of site by half time
My point is that LJ likes to play this open expansive game but as you say some of the players aren't up to it and the manager need to recognise this
Maybe its fatigue or injuries but Recent form shows its not working. For me a stronger platform in midfield will give us the chance to re group and kick on.

To be fair to him LJ has done marvels with a group of players who in general have been put together by other managers.
Will be interesting to see the team that runs out in August.
