2-1 FT. Massive second half. Much, much better. He didn't get everything right, by any means, but that's a big start for Mason and a kick up the arse for our players. We desperately needed that, but we'll have to improve dramatically on the weekend to get anything. Very happy for the new manager.
Southampton remind me of Leeds without the cardio. They totally battered us in the first half of both games this season, then completely disappeared after the break. Lead twice and got 0 points.
Bale MOTM. Winks done more in his 20 mins than Tanguy whole game too. I have zero issues if Tanguy (and/ or Lo Celso) are dropped for the final. Though I’m disappointed in Bale, interviewer asked him “What were you missing in the first half”. Bale missed the chance to say “Harry Kane”.
Well that's the archetypal game of 2 halves - very good second half and we deserved the win in the end - Bales goal was fabulous.
Much more positive second half. Good to see a manager who actually seems to have an influence when a performance has been poor rather than just sitting miserably in his seat.
It's a bit like when we nicked the "**** 'em all" chant. Should've been "Chelsea, West Ham, Ar-se-nal".
If he starts on Sunday we are doomed before we kick a ball - some may say we are anyway but I don't want Ndombele or Lo Celso starting this weekend.
I am genuinely pleased for Ryan Mason. Like I said...me and my girls were at his debut and he was a big part of our change under Pochettino until his injury v Sunderland. Always respected him for leaving to play when he was guaranteed a bench place here.
After being mis-managed by Mourinho, It might take Ndombele a while longer then most before he finds his feet again.
