They look a bit eager to me. Too many forced passes, direct balls and not doing the basics. Players obviously want it done, bit they need to keep a lid on it and just do whet theyve been doi g the last dozen games.
If promotiion isnt wrapped up before charlton then i'll be worried. It wont be though, and we'll lose on the beach. Tip our hat to Nigel and be on our way.
Reading the Sunderland fans on here and RTG you'd think they were prime Brazil. A draw was a fair result but I think we missed the better chances. Take out the last 5 minutes when they had to go for it and they created nothing in the second half. Baffled by how they seem to think the ref was playing for us when Wyke was lucky not to be sent off and they were given a bizarre penalty. Wilks is as frustrating as ever, he's way above this level in some aspects but his decision making really needs some work. Also feel like we rely a bit too much on Docherty to grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Good results tonight overall and hopefully can get the job done on Saturday!
It was a very watchable game, even though rather nerve-wracking towards the end. On balance a draw was a fair result, though they did get the benefit of poor refereeing, it was never a penalty, the player who elbowed Greaves should have gone, and the player who brought down Docherty when he was going clear through should have had his marching orders. Magennis has really gone up in my expectations, he has proved me wrong, he was excellent tonight and has been of late. Wilk's is a really frustrating player, does some really good things, the 2 crosses for Josh's goals, but his decision making at times is severely lacking. KLP I felt was trying too hard and became frustrated, he needs to learn to keep his cool in games like this, Neither Honeyman nor Docherty was at their best first half, but both improved in the 2nd. Regan Slater had a good game I thought, Elder looks a bit vulnerable defensive wise, but good going forward. Both centre backs had good games, and for the most part, handled what they had to throw at us well. All in all a good result after seeing the other scores. P.S. Not the sort of game to go back to bed at 4 am and try and get some sleep.
McCann... “I feel as if we’ve been let down a bit tonight, and the elbow from Charlie Wyke on Jacob Greaves,” he said. “His eye is in a terrible state at the minute. "In the second half there’s another elbow from Luke O’Nien on Josh Magennis that he gives a free-kick for but doesn’t book him and then a minute later O’Nien brings down Docherty when he’s clean through. “That could have been a red card for him. “I think the game tonight was ruined a little bit by the officials, because for me that was the best two teams in the league playing – I think Lee Johnson would agree with me – I’m not one for criticising referees, but I thought they ruined the game for us tonight. “I’ve seen it back and it’s a blatant elbow, we’ve seen it back three or four times and it’s a nasty one, it really is.” McCann, who was left frustrated with the same official’s display during the recent 3-3 draw at Doncaster, revealed he did speak to him after the game to share some of his annoyances. “I spoke to him straight after the game and fair play to him, he asked me to come into his office. He took what I had to say in a positive manner,” McCann explained. “It’s the same referee we had at Doncaster when Greg Docherty got booked for being injured. “We’re just frustrated in a big game like this the officials took the game into their hands, two very good teams, the best in the division ruined by some of the decisions.”
It's 100% in our hands now. I just don't see a scenario where we lose all and the chasing pack (posh excluded) win all. I honestly think the worst case is we end up 2nd. But are posh about to start a wobble.
I’d like to see the incident where Greaves was elbowed in the face. A shame Wyke was carded as retrospective punishment can’t be taken, but that was a disgraceful attempt at injuring an opponent.
Last time we won a league title England were so inspired by it the won the World Cup shortly after. A shame that can't happen this year.
We could set up a breakaway World Cup don't let anyone else in it except Malta, San Marino, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Democratic Republic of Congo, and refuse to let anyone else join .
