Hooky will be fine. Just let him play. He will make things happen. Saying that I would have preferred Priestland. Is any Welsh fan getting fed up of the coverage on both Sky and Talksh*te. Wales are in the semis but the main story has been what will England do in relation to Johnson and the investigation as to why they went out. Wales managed to get a second mention. I thought they were both national stations. only a thought like. The RFU could save their money. England went out because they are not a very good side at the moment. In years gone by they have had outstanding squads this time i think the press have overated them.
When you get to the Final you'll get the coverage you've deserved throughout the tournament. England make the headlines because the press love to crap on all our national teams (cricket/football/rugby) and, to an extent, the players in these teams make it easy for them. Only our cricketers seem to have to have bucked that trend recently and our rugby team hierarchy need to look at how they've done it and learn. Graham Henry will be available after this World Cup and England could do worse than bring him in with carte-blanche to shake up our game from top to bottom but I fear the 'old farts' will not have the balls to make such a selection.
after the job he made with supposedly the best ever prepared lions team would you really want him as england coach. what exactly was his record like with wales
which is the smallest country in gb... sky and talkshite will always pander to england because that is where most of thier punters are you should be used to it by now win the world cup and all the london journos will give you all the praise you desire
talk sport are mainly a mouth piece for everything english but mainly england football team and the top 4 in the premier league. all other sports and football clubs will get a mention now and again. that's the way it is but they have a huge following throughout the U.K.....look at the coverage they are giving wales at the moment when wales in both football and rugby are on great form and all they talk about is why have england and Johnson failed to get past the group stages of the world cup and not the fact that the smallest part of the U.K are on the verge of reaching the W.C final.....talk sport likes to put out the message that they are the sports programme of the u.k but the reality is they are not......
all huff and bluff atm, Beale battling a hammy is names for Aust, McCaw battling ankle is a certain starter for NZ, Preistland - dunno no news
Credit given for credit due. The usual "bias/lack of coverage" media that we tend to experience in the western Princpality with a population of just 3 million (the stalwart of ancient Brittania otherwise known as Wales) has been surprisingly non-existant and really good in the wake of our semi-final. I also thank all the support that has been forthcoming from across England, Scotland, Ireland and also overseas. Fingers crossed our boyos can do us all proud tomorrow in these troubling times and help keep the "Great" in Britain and realise the hopes of every fan of sport. Cymru am byth and God save our Queen.
Just back from Sydney where the World Cup is being taken much more seriously than here, and it's not just focussed on the Wallabies. Big screens in the harbour, big crowds even for last Saturday's QFs. Wall to wall coverage on TV, with one channel broadcasting nothing but games from previous World Cups 24/7. Puts us to shame, and coverage pretty balanced. England clearly just not good enough. Wales seen as the form team, due to Irish win but also performance v Boks. Aussies were self admittedly lucky against the Boks, All Blacks not fluent and struggling at stand off. But the New Zealand population is the same as Wales, so none of this minnows crap please. As an Englishman with a Welsh wife and kids who support Wales when it comes to rugby, I would love the Welsh to win to have a happy household and be able to beat the World Champions in the next Six Nations.
In response to your minnows response..... .....I don't see the Welsh side cherry picking the whole of the Pacific Islands for their side so don't believe New Zealands home grown crap either pretty please. When you are picking promising teenagers/club players from overseas before they are internationals and then calling them your own, it will distort their figures massively to that of a country 4 times their actual size! Whats even more weird is the country with the most rugby players , the richest union, the second largest population out of the top 10 sides in world rugby and supposedly the best league still has to look outside it's own boarders for a player. The RFU should be ashamed. It all proves how awesome the Pacific Islanders are...... if they had 3 million/became unified... we'd all be buggered! And before you mention it, I know we have gone down south in the past but those years are well gone (eg Falateu has been brought up in Wales since he was seven)
It wasn't taken personally but I very much doubt New Zealand would have been the force they are without their 'selective education' policy! Fingers crossed we will do it for us all!
One things for sure, if you beat the All Blacks in the final they'll be coming after your coach pretty quick, if England don't get him first. Good luck tomorrow!
Signed up til 2015 already, and will not want to see his golden generation go to someone else ala Fergie! Also, after the last Lions tour, he has already publicly stated he wants to be the top man for the next tour................ "Gatland beats the Aussies, to be the first succesful Lions coach since 1997". The WRU have been aware of this and the structure for the up and coming coaches have been put in place a few years ago. I doubt NZ or England would allow that to happen. I suspect you will see....Robbie Deans (who should have had the NZ job in the first place) to replace 'Our Henry'. Then I expect MJ to be in charge for at least another 6 nations failure but with new coaches and infrastructure above him also (easy job after all..with their player base, money, structure it should be a no contest every year). I would be really suprised if Mr Gatland did go, but you never know in sport!
If we don`t beat those garlic breath, cheese eating, surrender monkeys, we should hang our heads in shame. Only joking ........................................................................... or am I?
Wow.... very brave of you to admit you had a semi watching Brokeback Mountain! I suppose a football forum is as good a place to come out of that closet as anywhere else!
Thanks and all that swimaway im flattered but sorry i dont swing your way i only like pussy . Nothing against your life style though im sure theres an ass bandit for you out there somewhere !
