Not sure of the guys name, but I want someone to give the lad who kicked Burge in the head a nice little injury which forces substitution! Don’t normally wish injury on players, but what he did against us up here was shocking and could’ve caused some serious damage.
Johnson needs to stop the rot and will see a draw as a big result tonight. I think he'll pack the middle and go less attacking tonight. I also think he'll play Gooch over Jones as he offers more defensive coverage down that side and Lewis Potter is a really good little player on the left wing for them. First time this season where I'd be happy with a draw ------------------Burge----------------- Power---Wright----O'Nien---Hume -----------------Leadbitter---------------- Gooch--Scowen-Winchester-McGeady --------------------Wyke-------------------------------
It’s a draw for me. I can’t get excited about it to be honest I’m just hoping we find our feet for the playoffs.
This game has lost some of its meaning with the last 4 results , and with yesterdays bombshell, its hard to be optimistic So lets give Hull a hammering tonight, and prepare for the play-offs in style. OaU
[QUOTE I'd go Burge Younger Wright O'Nien Diamond Winchester Power Neill Hume Stewart Gooch[/QUOTE] This team would do me, but I would like AoB to start in place of Gooch, get Gooch and Maguire on the bench and give Wyke and McGeady a night off , it will do them no harm and they deserve it . Far too much has been asked of them already, and if this is an example of the science at work, like I-pad coaches and lazer line off sides, it wants dumping, or better still let the "Big Six" take it with them and give us back our common sense football.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if we won. Im therefore going for a 2-1 victory to us If we do win I expect us to draw against Accrington on Saturday HTL
Apart from Portsmouth at home, early in the season, no one has beaten us easily, so I don't see where you're coming from with this. I hope the Hull players are thinking like you, we'll turn them over.
I think a draw tonight would probably suit both teams. We want to stop the rot and they want to keep the gap between us and them intact. A draw for them and they have 1 and a half feet in the Championship. A draw for us moves us closer to play off qualification with 4 easier games to come.
You could say that what's happened over the last 10 days is typical Sunderland. Beating the league leaders on their own patch after a **** run, would also be typical Sunderland. I live in hope, as always, but would be happy with a point as I don't think we'll catch the others even if we win tonight. Losing 6 points to ****ing Wigan is still sticking in my throat.
This would be worse had we been about 7 points clear of Peterborough though 3 games ago. When you think 2 weeks ago this was going to be a top of the table clash, we might need to beat Accy and ?Playmouth/Northampton to make the play offs now we need about 78 points. This is worrying we better hope oxford and Charlton slip up, with our luck like 1998 and 2004 the teams who get there are bang in form, luckily the standard is not as good as 2 seasons ago. I predict 5th place again.
I've just been looking at season 1949/50, a season that I spent pretty much the whole of inside a womb. Born a week after the season ended. We finished third. In the first division obviously. But towards the end of the season we lost three on the trot followed by a series of wins. It's going to be the same this year. Nothing but wins from now on. Five in the league and three in the playoffs. It is written.
All I can say is I hope you are fcuking right... ATM not even sure if I will watch the game tonight... Mind as well as our latest crap results, I had to have a tooth extracted this morning so feeling sorry for myself and chewing (carefully) painkillers...or should I keep some for around 9.30ish this evening
