Wise man... Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa to Sky Sports: "This doesn't surprise me. The most superior teams have managed their superiority through competition. When they no longer need them to win money they discard what they no longer need. This is a very common thing, not only in football. It shouldn't surprise us. "The fundamental problem is the rich always aspire to be more rich without considering the consequences for the rest. As they gain more power they start demanding more privilege over the rest. "The most powerful are powerful because of what they bring but the rest are dispensable. What makes competition great is the possibility for one of those weak teams to develop, not the big teams playing each other. But the logic of the world at the moment and in football is not outside this - that the powerful become more rich as a consequence of the weak becoming more poor. If this was is what guides the world at the moment why is there such astonishment. This shouldn't surprise us. It was something that was coming."
If people have moral issues with the Super League, which they should, then I guess they're also going to have them with a murdery dictator.
Yeah but it’s not for these ****s who have no interest in it to decide the criteria because they all seem to be confused...the invite isn’t based on who’s won what...it’s about how much £££ you got The rich owners don’t care about that romanticism certain people keep on applying even to this super league none of them are interested in
Apparently he did and Levy probably worked out on his Casio calculator that sacking Jose was cheaper than not joining the Mickey Mouse pretend league
and there we have it. Spurs have money, a lovely new stadium, no manager, won **** all for yonks..But are rich. I'm actually glad at the moment that we a ****, and can look in from afar.
Yes I do - very much. Can't deny being torn, but not because of the football side of it. I don't want someone like that anywhere near the club I support. I hate what Ashley has done to the club, but don't want us to sell our soul to replace him and never did. However, the part that conflicts me is I have seen what Mansoor has done for that area of Manchester and the investment it has brought. Our region desperately needs the investment he was promising, so I was conflicted. If he had bought us ( or ever did in the future) then to me it wouldn't be the club I supported since I was a young lad anymore and I'm not sure I could ever give it my full support anymore. I've never been tested on that yet though.
You do realise that the 12 clubs who’ve put their name to this lost £1.2BN collectively in their last accounts don’t you? They’re not rich, they’re skint, that’s why they want this. Why are they skint? Because they’ve all spunked their income on vastly overpaid players and transfer fees. Which is exactly what they’d do with any further incremental revenue. Same as it ever was. Until they tackle the elephant in the room, they’re pissing in the wind. So expect drafts and some other Sherman’esque bullshit if this ever got going, Enjoy it fella.
So the crying about joining a league everyone is against anyway over a criteria that isn’t valid anyway just seems like a whole loada crying for the **** of it. people need to decide if they are happy that the clubs are going or angry...seem very confused to me and the rants are all over the place...I still love my club mate and that’s how it is.
the clubs have show their intent, and that they are happy to **** everyone over... The sooner they are gone the better.
You should be buzzing...this is what I dont get...it opens your club up to so much glory but people seem more bothered that certain other clubs are leaving. It’s the fans of them clubs that are leaving that are in the ****...I won’t be enjoying actually because I love the game and my club but I find it weird that you all deciding the criteria for joining Spurs shouldn’t be in it, even if the others should is a pathetic argument and I’m still a Spurs fan so I just had to pull it up.
I couldn’t give a **** about Spurs, or any of the other clubs who have decided they’re the ‘elite’. I care about their fans and English football though, and this would be terrible for the game and fans throughout the pyramid.
I'm more than happy for you to go as long as you don't play domestically too. The game's far bigger in this country than just six clubs.
when you’re a fan of that club...it’s a different road you’re on...the detachment isnt that easy once you put your anger to bed and start to actually think about it.
You won't be leaving the league (in the ESL version) you just won't be playing in the champions league anymore and instead you'll be playing in this new thingy.
