Yup, it was 2019 to a german rag. let him say what he wants. he's honest enough to tell it like it is and what harm?
Yeah they have been good with leaks. Though I should also say that Watzke from BVB already came out to say that Bayern and Dortmund were involced in discussions and rejected the concept.
It's a breakaway on steroids. The PL creation was the start this could be the finish. Like every big breaking news, people go overboard in their comments and reactions. Those calling for null and void last season are (granted a much smaller number and different circumstance) indication of spoilers in the game. Hating a rival more than honouring a competition? Football is changing and has been for a good while, not just in a monetary sense although that has the most devastating effect. I'm trying to stay calm and hoping and praying for common sense to prevail.
I posted earlier about Klopp's feelings on this from 2019 in a pre match interview. No reason to think he's changed his mind.
I’ll be intrigued as to what he says tonight tbh. Does he take the 5th and say **** all? Or is he true to himself and say what he actually thinks? If he chooses the latter, then I’d admire him even more.
Don't know where it's come from exactly but just heard on the news that they (**** six) are claiming this proposal will benefit the entire footballing pyramid
He is, which is why I hope he does. But he might see how things develop and what he can do behind the scenes before he comes out publicly. But if the other 11 carry on, would FSG really backtrack? And where does Klopp stand then? Though I think he may walk if this goes through whatever.
I'm pretty sure PSG will eventually join - the only reason they haven't is because their owner on the UEFA committee and it would look very bad to commit to something that isn't 100% concrete. But once it is concrete, you better believe they will join it. They don't need the money but they want the fame and brand. That will come with the Super League, and not a weakened CL. And again, Bayern and Dortmund will distance themselves until they have their vote with the fans.
He's not above white lies. he has been involved in plenty of porkies over transfers and has at other times been blunt. he is on record already on a super league so i really see no reason to go support it. I think however he has also commented on uefa just adding more game and not getting anything from it so in the main its about his comments on how boring it would be to see lfc play real every year for ten years. I hope he does say its all crazy. solskjaer managed to beat it out of there without sticking his foot in his mouth so it really depends how much klopp has had time to think and what LFC have now told him.
Psg chairman has rejected chance to replace the Juve chief that left uefa.. Doesn’t want to add to his workload... apparently. Nothing to do with fact psg want w slice of the money once they’ve won the CL this season.
I think klopp will do what TT did at the chelsea conference. Dodge the question, say they are here to win a game of football and leave the politics to the men in suits in the boardroom.
So say this falls flat on its face and is binned (hopefully so) We will be up for Sale ASAP won't we?... FSG won't stick around...but who can buy us?
I'd like him to say something, but I think he might just keep schtum and toe the line for the time being.
its as obvious as the day is long whats going on with PSG. UEFa have attempted to tie them in with the offer. Agnelli is in the middle of this 12 club superleague and psg could tie themselves firmly to uefa but don't. fun isn't it.
This has occurred to me. I really don't want us to be a billionaire's vanity project any more than a Yank's investment opportunity. Unfortunately top football club owners mostly fall into these categories nowadays.
