Don't think they envisaged the complete **** storm they have created. The big question is will it make a difference. Unfortunately I think they will all come to some watered down compromise that will see them getting their own way eventually. What I'd like to see is the Premier League and FA / EFL grow some balls and kick them out. Then use the opportunity for a complete overhaul. Look at the German model for clubs to get some long term sustainability and restructure the leagues. With a bit of imagination the whole league structure could be made much more attractive to investment and TV Unfortunately that's just a dream can't see it happening.
I'll be more compelled to watch English football without them. That first Premier League season man is going to be epic. **** em let em go. As long as there's a rusty tin can football will exist. Football will go on without them and I can't wait to be shot of them. Some of those clubs are directly responsible for the down fall of the English game. We'll be well shot imo
Probably will give more reason for the PL to finally sanction the Mags takeover to be fair. Which, in all fairness, if the "big 6" blocked it....then that's okay I guess..
IMO a points deduction is not the answer. Give them a straight choice - this new league or your domestic league. They shouldn't be allowed to have their cake and eat it. They will get their guaranteed TV audience - in China. That is where the majority of Man Utd, City and Liverpool fans are. Domestically, there are millions and millions of genuine football fans, who would be only too willing to continue to watch the Premier League, with or without the deserters. The popularity of the Championship proves this. There should be no need for a lesser deal from Sky and BT. One other thing. If they are kicked out, then even if the Premier League is reduced to 18 teams, 4 would still need to be promoted from the Championship (7 if there will still be relegations). This will have a knock-on effect on Leagues One and Two, meaning we could be automatically promoted anyway. Happy Days!
You would still have the Premier League and Champions League, just without the rats. Could make us even more appealling.
Can't just invite Rangers and Celtic. Would need to filter all of the Scottish clubs into the pyramid, which would be messy.
FWIW... They can take VAR and put it in the bin, bring in safe standing and let us have a pint in our seat as well while they are on with the review.
