its going to be hard for him to get a run of games in his preferred position of centre back - we have gerrard, hudson, turner and keinan so unless he's happy to fill in different positions he may be better off getting first team football somewhere else!
DOn't think it's anti Cardiff at all. In fact, I'd argue that it's a perfectly reasonable point of view.
But what ****ing business is it of his anyway? Did he ever set the world alight? Not worth bothering with.
Reasonable answer to a journalists question, can't see how it can be deemed Roberts is anti-Welsh. Blake is in the unenviable position of being a good utility player, he can fill in for a number of players but deemed not good enough to sustain a run at his prefered position. So I guess Roberts is probably right
You would have liked it less if it was an English player saying the same thing I would guess. At least they had sense to talk to a fellow Welshman
Why don't beaky keep his nose out of Cardiff City and leave things to the manager ? I'm sure that Malky will do a better job than Roberts every time. We didn't see him tell Bale to leave Spurs a few years ago when he was played left back.
In the next season or so, Blake needs a starting position. At the moment he's young enough at 22 to be able to only start / play in half the games in a season without affecting his long term career, which he'll easily do due to his versatility. I think MM is still working out who he's got and who he wants to keep. In my view Dekel and Gabor will be gone before Darcy. A couple of loans to come in soon and a couple more ins and outs in January before MM has sorted the wheat from the chaff. Not saying it will be the finished article as a squad, but hit will be the players that suit his style the best. If he keeps on playing the way he is, at the start of next season he needs to be knocking on the managers door and sayin 'play me or sell me'. Not before then. His best years are ahead of him.
He has a reasonable point of view..................but why doesn't he keep it to himself, this could be unsettling for the player doesn't do anyone any good
Trouble is BP, journalists go looking for 'gossip' all in the name of job creation, or at least trying to keep their job.
Darcy will inevitably leave but not yet. He's still young and still learning several positions but with his versatility, Malky has got 3 subs in one and with the current squad situation and 5 sub rule DB is worth his weight in Clarkies. He's not going to want to be a bench warmer all his career for sure and will decide where he wants to play but pin him to one position at the moment and as a club, we lose the options. Iwan Roberts is entitled to his opinion but the ugly git should stick to radio... He was probably a pin-up in Norwich though ....morning Thai
Evening H Ok, not the most handsome of men I agree but did a good job for us and was idolized by many. Certainly will go down as a club legend but to be honest, we were not a very good team for most of his stay with us so didn't take as much to look a good player
"He knows that fitness plays a big part in playing regular football and, because of the injuries, he's probably not been as fit as he could've been," Mackay added. "That's something that he's worked on hard and he's working with our sports science team at the moment." Am I reading too much into this comment?
why are you trolling on our board? dont you have anything more productive to do, like effing off? considering that the first choice CB parternship is williams (swansea) and collins (aston villa), how will he regularly get in to the team if he's not being played week in week out in his favoured position? dear dear..
