Hang on though, Boris Johnson is against it. Dilemma now - could it actually be good? o_O

That’s exactly the problem. LFC have had more than 100 years of history, of triumphs ,of lows,of tragedies. Yet with one swoop people with money can just destroy all this. Football clubs are not just money making businesses. They play a key part in the lives of people and some have recognised this. Some clubs e.g Bayern do not allow a single owner to come in and take over the club.

Also - as part of the CL reforms, they were looking at opening up spots for the elite clubs who didn't qualify through the proper channels. The same reason why people are against the ESL ...

Pinch your nose and support the FA , the premiership, UEFA as the alternative is much much worse.

They did this under pressure from the clubs themselves just as they kept increasing the number of teams and ensuring the clubs from the major nations automatically entered the group stage .Now i agree the CL reforms are dreadful however they still fulfil the basic requirement of competion unlike the ESL.

The ESL clubs want to eat their cake without fear of consequence. No matter which way we look at it, they're greedy bastards.

As much as I approve of FSG, I'm starting to want them out because of this ****. Think this is the third time they've pushed it too.

All hypothetic but that's why I see the ESL expanding over time and including more clubs via the usual merit based approach.

Everyone is greedy, everyone is self serving.

Moores and parry sold us off. The second he did so it could have been Dubai or it could have been G&H or whatever but it was then that SOS and all that good stuff started and then that this money train was really kicked into high gear.

parry was part of the original premier league story and there you go.

I agree total on fan ownership and always have done but we've long since passed the point where such controls were possible.

Bayern are legally not allowed buy out the fans.

I don't get why people think clubs will be shocked by reaction. It's not even close to a year since they got slapped down on league "reform"

The Manchester lad on sky sports news was for more reasonable about trying to use it to force reform. The only way to fight this imo is to drive a different agenda in response rather than resorting to panicky threats that have not follow up or soundbites.

Imo the spanish would never try this on without the English clubs actually driving it. I like the idea of now forcing club sales to fans via share issue but we are talking a theoretical 2.3billion valuation of lfc so what cans can now afford to but 51%

One of the most famous images of Boris is him trying to play football but falling over and head butting someone in the knackers :bandit:

I'm happy generally with the way they've run the club too. But they're Yanks, and like the Scorpion and the Frog story they just can't help themselves. The 'Murican Way of putting profit before people is ingrained in them - though you'd think their previous run-ins with the fans would have taught them something.
