The premier league should boot them out and the rest of the clubs in Europe including Bayern dortmund and PSG should go up against the super league..

It's possible they destroy themselves completely and a new order can be created

Is it right that Man City haven't actually committed to it?

    EUROPEAN SUPER LEAGUE STATEMENT

Yesterday saw the announcement of a breakaway European Super League– including Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea from the Premier League.

The Newcastle United Supporters Trust is totally opposed to the proposals, we have contacted Newcastle United and expressed to the club in the strongest possible terms that they must do all they can to oppose the new super league. As a member of the European Club Association, Newcastle United are well placed to work with other clubs and key stakeholders to oppose this abhorrent development.

The motivation behind this so-called super league is nothing more than greed.

This competition is being created behind our backs by club owners who have zero regard for the game’s traditions and continue to treat football and football supporters with disdain.

We will stand together with The Football Supporters Association, and the Trusts from those club involved, who has been betrayed by their owners, against the European Super League proposal.

As football fans, if we work together we have more power than we realise. We recently launched the 1892 Pledge scheme, to raise as much money as possible to enable us to be in a position to buy a stake in our football club when the club is next sold - find out more and pledge today at 1892pledge.co.uk

The demand for fan involvement in their football club is now greater than ever. We are the life and soul of our clubs. We are its beating heart, it doesn’t survive without us.

    No they're in.

It's a disgrace I mean the likes of chelsea and city were beneath us until big money takeovers yet now having bulldozed their way to the top they're locking the door on others they've trumped

I'd have preferred if they didn't use this as leverage to get money from people.

This is bigger than nufc and it's problems.

Yep, the most aggrieved will be Leicester, Everton, us, Villa and Leeds from here (plus both Glasgow clubs), then some decent sized clubs on the continent like Roma, Atalanta.

Being a Sunderland supporter I will always have that rivalry with yous lot. Nowt I like better than to see yous suffer (football wise, wish nothing better for yous but good health on a personal level.) Being taken over by the Saudis would have softened the rivalry alot, numbed it as far as I'm concerned. Another nail in the coffin to the football I grew up loving. But there would have still been that tinge of jealousy that you'd potentially be riding high. I would possibly come to accept it and still carry on despising everything that yous come to represent (on and off the football pitch) :emoticon-0105-wink:. There will still be the hope that at some point before I die we may match at any given time success that your countless billions may achieve.
However if your potential takeover is a step towards joining the utter twats in the 'big 6' and bogging off to this Super League at some point in the near future. The rivalry will be over as far as I'm concerned. Might be a blessed relief actually. We can all get back to behaving like adults <laugh>

****ing morons, using this as a way to promote their fumbled idiotic plans. It's got so little to do with the NUFC takeover it's not even funny.

There's something to be said for the German model, though.

There's only rivalry when fans are involved. A Saudi takeover alongside a Newcastle Magpies franchise in the ESL means nothing to any of us.

Would you believe the same clubs that helped stop our takeover are now trying to sell the TV rights to Saudi Arabia.

I would mean alot to me. The club I have grown up to irrationally hate and despise will suddenly give me a rational reason to hate and despise them. And it would not have anything to do with rivalry. Well, maybe a little....<laugh>

Our primary job is to maximise our revenues and profits, the wider good of the game is a secondary concern."

Oh, just as an FYI - Newcastle are guaranteed entry to the CL under new proposals which takes a coefficient into account. We're more or less the only team left who have played CL football recently.
