I don't think I could stop watching, I've been following them all my life - but it wouldn't mean anything any more, and I wouldn't be able to get as involved.
The domestic game has always been the most important thing to me, I'm one of an increasingly endangered species who still thinks the domestic title is more important than the European one.

I also think its disgusting to call for a points deduction of six points btw, if you are going to be billy big bollocks on this topic deduct enough points so all clubs involved miss out on CL and not just enough to leave your team in Cl positions but not the club you hate the most whilst trying to get everyone n your side
Neville is an utter disgrace as a pundit always has been, comes out with nuggets of senses so when he comes out with horse **** he invariably gets away with it.
Many lap it up, his agenda is always plain to see
Dickhead, this is way bigger than a club rivalry and he still using it as a platform.

    Tournament format...

    20210419_011920.jpg

... so five other teams get to join in occasionally <laugh>

18 leagues games, two QF legs, two SF legs and the final. That's 23 three games. The CL is 13 in total (ignoring qualifying) <laugh>

They've even got those much wanted playoff games in there too <doh>

Stupid question, but do we need top 4 still then? Or the rest of the season a write off

Neville said in his interview that they should have all of their points removed, and the cash that goes with it. Relegate them was his shout. His main beef was with his own club, Liverpool and Arsenal, as he felt those 3 should have had a greater understanding of the game’s history and essential element of the pyramid. Not sure I was getting his logic with seeing them as being more culpable than Spurs etc, but everything else he said was just the thoughts of the vast majority of fans imo.

That was always the idea, but there’s no chance the governing bodies and their current t leagues are going to allow that to happen, that’s the point. They’ll be left with a choice, take that route and **** off, or file it in the same bin as the ‘Big Picture’ self aggrandising ****e that lasted all of a week before they caved on it only months ago.

It’s going to be very interesting how this plays out. UEFA, FIFA and the EPL have had meltdowns and even government is involved. Some of the threats are anti-competitive and, frankly, illegal under current competition law.

These clubs want to play this instead of the Champions League. It’s not a split from the national leagues. Yes, it’s a closed shop for the founding clubs but they are perfectly entitled to do this. FIFA and UEFA are proven to be two of the most corrupt organisations in world football, driven exclusively by greed. They should be proud of what they are witnessing <whistle>

That's a big one, as without it, as far as I can see, FSG's model for Liverpool has no future. So this is basically a new CL format with permanent members: and that is totally against the spirit of everything football has stood for since football leagues were devised, but everything about the way they do things in American sport. Go figure, as they're wont to say.

Can only go off the direct quotes off sky but it states in there he has called for a six point deduction. Have a picture of the quote and its still on sky news now, cant attach the url sorry.
He is going along with everyone and just adding in his own vitriolic twist imho and he has always done this. Side with the majority and just gently nudge everyone into his hidden agenda. Loads of people do it tbf, i am just jealous he has the platform to influence and never gets called on it as he doesn’t even hide it.

It is fairly obvious that uefa fifa etc all know this will succeed
That is why they are scared
    Its an easy tix
Tell all clubs involved that of course they can go and form the super league, but there will be no return to the domestic leagues ever so if it fails they will not be reinstated not even in the lowest part of the pyramid, and their club will die.

however everyone knows what that does to the domestic products and that is why it is being fought
    It utterly sucks imho :(

The clubs won’t do this unless they can play in their own league. It’s not meant to be a standalone competition. It’s a replacement for the CL in theory as they won’t make enough money or play enough games for this to be the only competition that gets played.

It will either go ahead with clubs still in their domestic league, or they will be a huge reform of the CL with some kind of guarantees for clubs

    Hypothetical

if this goes ahead, but as part of the commitment, all these clubs agreed that ticket prices for all matches would be capped at £10 per game and X allocation were given to local schools etc, Would match going public start to change their tune?

    What an explosive 24 hours!

Whilst I'm against the anti competitive nature of the league, I'm indifferent to whether it goes ahead or not. Mainly because football was already losing to corporate greed for decades. Football is already governed by corrupt bodies and figures:

    - FIFA granted a World Cup to Qatar ffs! A country with no history hosting major football tournaments, and also has a horrible record with human rights.
    - Former UEFA and FIFA seniors found guilty of accepting bribes
    - Leagues allowing for oligarchs and states to own clubs and pump sh*t loads of money into their respective clubs and inflating the market and creating an unfair advantage.
    - Tickets are already extortionate
    - Players are already demanding over £200k a week
    - Players are costing over £100m
    - Agents are creaming money left right centre

The PL in itself is a breakaway league, borne out of greed ... and who was on hand to help? Sky! Gary Neville giving a passionate plea last night conveniently forgets that the organisation that employs him is no different. And I guarantee if the SL goes ahead, Sky will be the first to get off their high horse to buy the rights.

This is kinda what we're hoping from any new competition. The founders of the SL said that the pump they intend to pump back into the pyramid will be significantly more than what the current European competitions provides. It's all words for now ... let's wait and see.
