Do you reckon he should start? I think this is the perfect game for him to make a triumphant return. He will be chomping on the bit to prove a point and against not such strong opposition it could really get his season started!

Such a big game, this is the sort of game we need to be winning. At home to relegation rivals. Holt to score and us to win!]]

    ON THE BALL cITY!

Will Holt start? Will Morison start? One up front, or two up front? My guess... Lambo makes the right decision!
Probably no change, we've been playing well, so why change it?

Agreed, but anything could have happened in training in the past two weeks. From what I heard Morison did well for Wales so he may start.

relegation rivals? Nah, we're not going to be anywhere near the relegation scrap. Mid table comfort for us this season.

Agree with superman entirely. Holt will of course get his chance this season, but he'll have to wait. In fact, I'm willing to bet any of you he'll get at least ten goals before the season's out. But Morison's playing better at the moment, so why drop him?

Short of injury to Morison, the Holt question is a complete red herring for the Swansea game. Jackson, on the other hand, could be interesting. Would be a very good game to bring in a man in form for his country, against a side we know a bit more of from last season. If we can get Jackson up and running he could be really significant for us.

In theory, there is no need to change anything. In practice, who knows? Lambert may feel we need more cutting edge up front, in which case he may revert to 442/diamond. Or he may feel that Morison played too much midweek and can't play on Saturday (the same could be applied to Jackson). Or maybe someone picked up a knock in training. Or he may be happy with the team as it is, and won't change a thing.
IMO, if Morison is fit, Holt won't start.

I've just returned from a months holiday and whilst away all I knew was that Norwich won 2 games and lost narrowly and unluckily to Man Utd. Since returning I have noticed that this good run was achieved with a settled side and formation - something that lots of people were calling for before I left. Now all of a sudden we want to drop the winning side and formation to experiment with other players. WHY? Which world class team were Canada playing when Jackson got his hat trick? Who would you drop to make way for him? What formation would you play? Why is it going to produce better results than 2 wins and a narrow loss to the Champions in 3 games? Why is Holt suddenly better than Morison? Sorry if old grumpy guts is back but it just doesn't make any sense to me.

Sorry 1950, I didn't make that clear enough. I wouldn't drop Morison at all, unless he was injured. What I said about Jackson was meant as alongside Morison, with us reverting to a diamond.
I'd be loath to change anything, as I said earlier "we've been playing well, so why change it?'. But I do think Jackson could be really significant for us in the coming months, and this could be an ideal game to bring him in.
As for Canada's opposition, of course you're right, but regardless of that, scoring goals brings confidence and all strikers feed off that.

I think that you are right about the future when PL will want to change things to try and get further good results. As time goes on I think that many in the squad will get games as we are bound to run into injuries and losing runs. I understand that Vaughan is out for sometime so no doubt Jackson will get his chance at the appropriate time but I am a great believer in the statement ' if it ain't broke don't fix it '

I wouldn't change it either, my point (though really badly put) was only that talk of Holt coming in was wide of the mark unless Morison was injured. However, a switch to two up front could be a possibility if we were going to change anything, essentially 'option b'. My choice, as I said at the top, would be no change to the team.

I think lambo has worked out strategies for each and every game we will be playing this season at least in rough, obviously over time form & injuries will affect that but he will im certain have decided on what formation & tactics will work best against each team home and away and will pick the team that can best deliver those tactics. Changes will be inevitable, even to a winning side if lambo thinks that a different approach or formation will work better for a particular match he won't hesitate. I fully expect to see a different team for tomorrow's match and wouldnt be at all surprised to see Holty running out at 3:00 on Saturday

...................i'll be very surprised if we start any match with the diamond this season having bought 2 speedy wingers who are performing well. certainly suggests the diamond is a thing of the past, at least as far as premiership matches are concerned.
