Na they can put it in as equity (which I think is what they've done, hence very little debt).

Not too concerned about the Toon's debt though cos it's mainly sustainable interest free debt (for now), so not a problem for financial fair play etc.

Same with mackems by the way. Their owner converted all the debt owed to him into equity.

If you put money into a business you own (i.e. you invest it as capital) then it isn't put down in the balance sheet as debt, no.

Why would it be classed as debt if it simply isn't debt?

That NUFCBlog site has as poll on that page there which says:

"Has Fabricio Coloccini been a good Captain of Newcastle United so far?"

And one of the options is 'Too Soon To Tell'. <laugh>

Yeah I'm with you here Chappaz - it's equity.

  7. We're in debt to Mike Ashley, but we're in the least financial danger, because he's not going to immediately want to drain money from his own club to the extent that we start seeing it effect the teams progress.

£111 million is an interest free loan from Sports Direct, MA, the rest, 40 million is the true figure for MA to be looking to pay off first. IMO really not that significant in comparison with other clubs.

    edit:
MA will not be looking to gain his own money back until we are a profitable club, I can actually see us better off in the long run if MA is kept installed in the long term. Even if he has made instrumental errors throughout his reign so far, but people who made mistakes, tend to do better in life, than those who don't. (No mistakes = Not trying)
