I’m unconvinced. I can see why the club shop would be transferred back to nufc for the takeover. What I don’t understand is the redundancies. That is clearly to save money as the shops reopen. The new owners don’t own anything yet. So how can they make any decisions? Just seems to me like cost cutting by MA. However has anyone considered the point that the club shop is underneath the smallest stand that may be extended?
Had a quick response "It (takeover) would appear far from certain. Depends on your interpretation of what this shop move means - either a genuine move to get things in order for takeover or MA using that as the reason/excuse for getting rid of staff. I’ve heard both versions since publishing."
could the takeover already have been passed? and all parties are just waiting to see if we stay in the PL as there could be two different set of commercials at play?
If indeed the letter does say the new owners have indeed said they don’t want them and the takeover doesn’t happen. Then their is an open case for the staff to claim unfair dismissal. Pretty dangerous by even MA standards to state that in the letter if there isn’t concrete proof the takeover is happening and approved? Anyone else think this?
According to my son who was talking to him Monday, they are being made redundant by Fraser's. No option of TUPE as MA is effectively closing the stores and they'll reopen under NUFC management I presume. Craig Hope has got it right I would say.
But that’s “exactly” what TUPE is for? The store under anyone’s management will still need the same employees?
