I have concluded something slightly different, but I don't understand this kind of stuff tbh I think Ashley can't furlough anymore and he has decided he doesn't want the salaries anymore. Basically if arbitration is lost he would rid, so he's just got rid now.?
Then he would just close it. He hasn't. He's transferred the shop back in the club's name and not Sports Direct. Biggest positive is that that it could suggest when takeover does occur then no more SD full stop
No as he wouldn't then transfer it back to the club Especially considering shops are now re-opening and fans will soon be allowed back in
PiF did not want sports direct running the club merchandise. Rumblings of the takeover bring close to being done Club shop transferred back to club Billions
Does it specifically mention potential new owners in the letter like the article in the Mail suggests?
If that was the case then the shop workers would simply TUPE over to NUFC from the Frasier Group. He’s closing the stores and making them redundant, as they’re obvs loss making and he doesn’t want to carry them as part of his retail group.
Sportsmail understands the change is one of the conditions of the Saudi deal, which has been awaiting High Court arbitration since its collapse last summer. The progress of that private hearing is not known. I think I know actually
If they’re continuing to operate as club shops and all that’s happened is a transfer of ownership then TUPE should apply. But that’d be transferring the loss making shops from one arm of his operation to another......so he’s just shut them, and presumably taken the entire retailing operation online.
